A senior JFK base flight attendant die yesterday en route to Narita.
The flight diverted to CTS but the flight attendant die on her way
to the hospital. I think she was flying over 40 years. Very sad.

Its Unfortunate that she worked 40years and never got to enjoy retirement but this is what The US Government wants from all of us. We Need Change. My Condolances to her family.

My condolences, sorry to hear, may God bless her and her family....

Prayers are with the families...

How old was she?

Is this you that posted this comment on the Av Herald Board? If so you have no shame and deserve all the wrath that the community can bring down on you.

My condolences to the families... We in the airline community feel your loss..

In reference to the "hardship" of being a flight attendant.. Please!!!!!!!!!

It was your choice to stay in the occupation.. I believe in the "Pan Am" standards.. It's a young woman or man's job and is not meant to be a career.. (so is throwing bags for that matter).. If you went back to school and accomplished a college degree then you wouldn't be stuck in a job that requires a meer 2 week training course.. Its not too late!! Do something...

You bet TechBoy...

But this is not the approriate thread to discuss these issues..

This thread is dedicated to the loss of one of our employees

But for the benefit of determing your "wrath"
Let's start another thread...

Again, Condolences to the families

Flight Attendant Margaret Dunn became ill on a flight from JFK to NRT (Tokyo) on
9 December (local date). The flight diverted to Sapporo and she was taken to
the hospital where she died (diagnosis was a blood clot). I flew with Margaret
numerous times and she was a wonderful person and will be missed by everyone.
This is the PA tribute made by her crew on the return flight.

Margaret Dunn's Tribute From The Crew of 168 Dec.12 from Joni --

email 1

Good Evening Ladies and Gentlemen.
Many of you have asked why we are wearing corsages?
If I may have a moment, I would like to share something very precious with you!
My name is Trish Coughenour and on behalf of this crew I have been given the
honor to speak with you.
Today's flight has 4 Cockpit Crew Members and 12 Fight Attendants on board.
There are 11 working flight attendants and 1 of our flight attendants is at
rest.
On December 8th our beloved friend and colleague Margaret Dunn was taken ill on
flight 167 JFK-NRT.
Today, IT IS OUR HONOR AND PRIVILEGE TO ESCORT OUR BELOVED FRIEND AND COLLEAGUE
HOME TO HER FINAL RESTING PLACE. At this time I would like to quote from the
Hymn "On Eagles Wings."

And he will raise you up on Eagle's Wings
Bear you on the breath of Dawn
Make you to Shine like the Sun
And hold you in the Palm of His Hand

Margaret's career spanned over 42 years.
It was a sincere pleasure to know her and to work with her. Even though this
chapter has come to an end let me say “Margaret, you will forever be a part of
our lives and Margaret you will forever be in our hearts.â€￾
On behalf of all of us and your family at American Airlines let me say …………

We love you Margaret
We welcome you home Margaret.
God Bless you, our Friend
God Bless you, Ladies and Gentlemen

Just got home from JFK. There were at least 60 people or more there to welcome
Margaret home. I got there early enough to go up to operations where a lot of
people were already gathered. Flight Service did a nice job with coffee and
pastries available for us. Lovely flower arrangements on a table with a book
for us to sign for Mag's family. A beautiful picture of Margaret above the
table. Barbara O' had brought long stemmed pink roses for us to carry and as
a group we left operations to go to gate 14 for the arrival of the plane. It
was an emotional, sad and somber scene as we stood at the window looking down on
the tarmac. Flight Service had worked very hard to get permission for us to be
down there for her arrival, but TSA and Customs wouldn't budge. But I wish you
could have seen all the ground people .... it only takes 3 people to bring a
plane into the gate and there must have been at least 40 people down there.
They formed a V-shaped line on the co-pilot's side as the plane taxied in ….
very still and at attention. The cargo door opened, and a spot light came on to
illuminate the area. A huge arrangement of flowers was put on top of her casket
and she was lowered very slowly, very gently, very respectfully down. Those not
involved with this process continued to stand quietly and at attention. It was
like an honor guard. I was so impressed by this as was everyone around me.
Lots of tears as you would imagine.

She's home now. May she rest in peace.

Gary

You are correct. I should have left it alone.

My bad day was nothing compared the loss suffered by the family here.

My apologies to all involved.
