Saturday Morning In Pit

ALCARLOS,

You are way off base with you comment here. The workers at the airports are doing the best they can with the tools they are given..it's not their fault they are terribly understaffed. It's not their fault that someone knew it would be a heavy day and failed to plan adequate coverage. The workers who showed up and had to deal with the mess should be commended not criticized.....

Just another piece of evidence that those who fail to plan plan to fail.....

You sir are one of the few individual posters on here with true integrity refusing to do as I do, post with a brillo pad. Wish I had your spirit.

Actually, it was probably the THUNDERSTORMS that were all over the place last night. Saw flights with 3+ hour delays with some arrivals near 2am. Not a good night to be at the airport.

Word has it that it was an organized effort from an underground group of AWA employees to prove to their company to stay out of buying usairways. 😱

EXCUSE ME?

I think you should either apologize and retract that right now, or state whatever facts you have to support that claim.

Was PIT ....Crellinized.

As long as he gets his $$$$$, and as long as his tee time isn't interupted...it will be the same. I just hope AWA doesn't offer him a job. Are you listening Mr. Parker ...

Now, now, no need to be the voice of reason on here........ 😀

Weather last night resulted in about 150 misconnects. This morning they returned for ticket reissue. On top of that, problems were compounded by a TSA CTX machine going down early. Fixed and back online approx 0930, but it caused backups at all check-in points- tkt ctr, kiosks and skycap. TSA went to manual but volumes were very heavy.

All ticket counter positions were staffed and agts pulled from the gates to move people in front of counter. Seven flts delayed to accomodated misconx and xld pax. Took until approx 2pm to move all pax due to heavy loads and lack of space.

I've heard its made it to the Hyatt a few times...

I was there that Monday following Mother's Day when the line extended to the Hyatt hotel. I could have parked in extended and been closer to the end of the line that day.

This was the 1st day of WN Monday flying and post Mother's Day which is always busy. Guess lots of people fly home to see Mom on this important day.

.............

Someone needs to explain to me why the shoe carnival is appropriate for PIT and various other airports but not LAX? I just flew home from LAX on Thursday and the line extended out the doors and down the sidewalk to Terminal 2. But not 1 passenger was asked to remove their shoes. I guess not a lot of shoe bombers fly WN?! LOL

Hmmm...at PHL, we all know that there's a shoe carnival at B/C/F. But I was flying NW out of E the other day for the first time in ages (will never happen again--not NW's fault, that ghetto of a terminal), and there was no shoe carnival at E. Playing favorites with WN?

So sorry. You are quite right. Sometimes one slips back to the old days where you gave an honest answer.

Those days are long gone. :jerry:

This is very interesting since I spent about an hour in PIT yesterday, and the airport looked nearly deserted....I found that very sad...but that's another story altogether.

By the way very funny about the kiosk union 🙂

It looked deserted because I wasn't there... 😉

Not really. If the station manager was thinking, they'd have done the reissues last night.
