Lead Story from reporter for local DC Channel 4 showed lines waiting for US ticket counter. Only TWO people working...people interviewed in line say they've been waiting five hours. One old guy says when he gets to the front he's getting his money back from his non-refundable ticket (yeah, right). Customers interviewed says USAir employees "don't seem to care..."

They cut to the Delta counter...it's fully staffed to cover the cancelations in the MidWest.

USAir spokesman (who wouldn't appear on TV) blamed the delays on "pilot rest requirements due to weather delays yesterday..". Beautiful.

Interview one guy who's trying to get to ROC. Says flights have cancelled last day and a half. One other guy has been here for 2 days waiting to get to SDF.

Reporter ends..."USAirways has many angry people here at Reagan National."

The fat lady is singing loudly.

Once again US is not prepared.

Well I saw a derogatory report on DL on this news this am out of a different city (cant remember which one). It showed long lines, disgruntled passengers more than willing to go on camera to complain etc etc. Of course all the media has to do is head to the airport when the weather is this bad, stick a camera in the face of a passenger and the 600pm news has their "story".

It's true. We all know it. U is not pro-active.

Many of our manager's don't give us the support we need and everyone passes the buck.

Watch how some of the competition makes adjustments and I think you'll see the difference.

I see so many employees going beyond the call of duty everyday with smiles on their faces while taking a beating.

It certainly seems like an apathetic abyss, but I love how hard everyone is still working. We have great people, but even the best get burnt out. CCY and the WO's have had the opportunity to "right the wrongs" but even to this day they've chosen to remain on autopilot.

Don't rock the boat is the mentality that will sink this ship.

Good Luck to Everyone.

Hey 700- If you can't say something nice-Zip it.

Why don't you quit and start a new job for 2005? We'd all be better off to lose a whiner like you to another firm that could make better use of your talents.

I guess all the delays could have been avoided if everyone was paid time and a half until January 2.

It's starting to look alarmingly similar to the last days of Peopl Express; remember the scenes at EWR shortly prior to their demise?

Better cash your paychecks quick!

I heard BOS was in such bad shape Thurs. It was embarrasing.

Everybody that voted for the buy-outs . . . . better get the money quick, then disappear so the Chapter 7 court can't take it back and give it to the fuel contractors.

When this becomes www.924ps.com, then you can tell me what to do.

It is reality, people are tired of being beaten down and abused, it is human nature for them to rebel.

It is reality that US Airways is in Bankruptcy for the second time in 18 months and the place is holding on by a thread. If you don't like reality or what I have to say, I suggest you use the ignore feature on the boards.

If you take the time read the posts, you would know I have said I do not condone people abusing their sick time.

And I will ride this train till it stops. Have to let the republicans pay for my unemployment, schooling and retraining.

Glad to see you have to use insults to try and prove a point.

People Express was purchased by Frank Lorenzo in summer 1986, and subsequently merged them along with the other Texas Air Group airlines NY Air, Continental, and Frontier(owned by People Express at time of buyout) into what is now Continental Airlines, in Feb 1987. People Express did not go out of business, but was bought out via merger.

Managers..what managers..everyone in management was on early holiday vacation...couldnt get anyone on the phone and in PHL one off duty manager said to "DEAL WITH IT IN YOUR OWN BEST WAY"...way to go...good ole U leadership in its finest....WE wont recover from this one......I felt so sorry for all those stranded customers in -A- concourse from those cancelled Carrib flights.

I am so ashamed of this pig...step right up and take a gun..pump another round into the poor dying horse's head (U).

Those $20/hr cleaner jobs are hard to come by.

It is $17.47 before the 21% paycut. And after all these years of you being at US Airways, you would know it is Utility.

And $150,000 A320 Captain jobs are even harder to find.

The alarmist media at work. Stories such
as this are unbalanced and the public
eats it up.

Part of the problem is that customers
need more time to learn how to use
the kiosks. Once the learning curve has
passed, 2 people at the ticket counter
should be more than enough.

Rerouting can be done at special
services counters and in the future,
at kiosks. Customers are paying
historically low fares to travel and
are expecting service that can only
be provided with higher fares.

People dont want to use kiosks.

And this place is doomed.
