I HATE The 737....ALL Variations of them!

I loved the 400's when they first came online. The interiors had blue and red seat covers, nice snow white sidewalls and you either got a red, orange or blue galley and aisle marker slides depending on the airplane.

From a pax standpoint you had 4 F/A's to do the service in coach, which on most flights included genie tray meal service! We didn't have to walk through the back galley to get the lav's either, like on the 300.

I think that the 5th F/A sat in seat 24D.

They were and still are rockets.

On the grand scale of things, I suppose you are right but it's worth noting that the 737 fleet will be kept separate regardless of whether there is a single operating certificate. From what I've been told, the West 737s have noticably more cycles on the airframes than the East. Many have the wicked hull inspection due in the next couple of years. Also, there is no desire to spend the $$$ to update the FMCs on East 737s which means that fleet pretty much won't backfill West 737 departures. So I would expect that the bulk of aircraft departures system wide will continue to be West 737s. The replacement aircraft will be E-190s and more high CASM CRJs. More mainline jobs lost to the C scale or outsourced. I don't fault the company at all. It's all squarly within the contract. Thanks ALPA.

"US Airways has already noted it has too many 50-seaters in its fleet."

The 400's were all ordered by PI, as PI was the launch customer.
