Should 700uw Change Names

I guess that the US problem was not nearly as bad as the one at MAE. Anybody got pictures of the US serviced aircraft?

We had situations where vendors performed faulty maintenance and now we have US Airways mechanics doing the same thing, which could have been deadly"

So far its one person word on the forum about the problems with 714 and now you are saying that U mechanics have performed faulty maintenence which could have been deadly? Take a little visit to one of these 3rd party maintenance facilities and just look around. Just yesterday I spoke with some furloughed mechanics who had visited some of these facilities on job interviews. These mechanics are damn good mechanics and after visiting the facilities they turned down employment. There is a large number of non licensed mechanics and they as licensed mechanics were responsible for signing off not only theirs but those working with them also. The workforce was comprised of a large number of foreign workers, does this make them bad mechanics...no but its important to understand the english language. Those mechanics continue to receive calls from the facilities offering them employment.

Here is a nose gear done at MAE on its first landing. It is a UAL Airbus.

Back gear looks in good shape 😉

Vendored out maintenance is usually cheaper but not better.

ITRADE you truly are clueless on this subject.

Well, then Bryan, please set the record straight.

Please tell us first how the first flight out from the in-house maintenance hangar resulted in a severe door leak on climbout?

Please tell us how the so careful, so precise, and so guaranteed work was such a premium over work done down in Mobile.

Anxiously waiting for an answer from you Bryan.

This was aircraft 721. It was in CLT hangar for removal, repair and re-installation of an entry door. It returned to the field on it' first flight while on the way to the islands with an air leak at that same door.

Ahh....so we have in-house gear issues and in-house door seal issues.

Very nice.

Ummm, Bryan....Want to comment on this?

Or LavMan?

Returning to the field for a door leak is not the same as 5 emergency landings.

See an emergency landing involves calling out the fire departement and having the F/As prepare the Passengers for an emergency, not just a simple landing.

And let us not forget when you get an airplane brand new from the factory, there are problems that occur also.

That is why EAs and ADs are around.

And let us not forget this:
ST Mobile Aerospace
Personnel
Certificated Mechanics: 532 (licensed)
Repairmen: 74
Non-Certificated Mechanics: 1173 (unlicensed)
Total Employees: 1776

Somebody tell me why this needs to be public knowledge????

Ah......so it is OK to have RTF's for MTC issues, as long as you don't have to declare an emergency.......Ohhhhhhh, I think that clears it up.

The point was simple, paying dues does not make one immune from mistakes!!!

Who do you want working on an airplane that you or your family would fly on?

A mechanic that actually works for the company that flies the plane, a mechanic who would actually get on the plane with his or her family and is driven by safety alone and nothing else?

Or

A unlicensed mechanic working for a company as a independant contractor (possibly an illegal alien, See Timco at GSO for example) working for a MRO who's only motive is profit and not safety?

Real easy choice in my book.

Well for one, I'm hoping that this is not confirmation of things to come. I am personally becoming concerned about all the corners being cut, or at least the ones I can see. Sorta makes me wonder what I can't see.

If you can't spend the money to keep one clean on the inside, what is happening on the ramp or in the hanger?
