According to today's New York Post, the FAA investigated this photo. Turns out that AA put the normal sized guy in the center seat next to the fat flier on a later flight (I wonder what he received in compensation). The oversized fellow was assigned "a whole row to himself." He was buckled in the middle seat with a seat belt and a seat-belt extender.
