Should US Airways reintroduce MetroJet

The only similarity is that they are both awful, fly dirty antiquated planes, operate from dilapidated facilties, and have disgruntled employees. I can't imagine what your Star Alliance customers from ANA, Lufthansa, Singapore, and SWISS think when they fly USAir. Never flown Allegiant but I have plenty of experience on USAir.

Josh
That is untrue. While there are a lot of things that I dislike about US, dirty and antiquated planes are not one of them. The planes are usually very clean and on time. There are a few old birds out there but most aren't. Just my 2 cents. Labor issues are a whole different matter

Your showing your ignorance, US' Airbus aircraft are not old.

If you hate US so much then dont fly them and get off the boards, cause your just full of mistruths all the time.

Looks like US' average fleet age is lower than AAs, gee, Josh your so wrong again!

AA Fleet Age

US Average Fleet Age

DL Average Age

UA Average Fleet Age

Who is US Air? That name hasnt been used since 1996, a little behind the times there Joshie?

And have you flown on every single plane to say they are old and dirty and antiquated?

Your truly ignorant.

Jim,

You know as well as I do, those planes are kept in good shape and each plane depending on type, undergoes an annual C-Check, or multiple progressive C-Checks, a three your Q-Check and/or a 5 year S-Check, or annual HMV visits.

All correct but that has nothing to do with the age of some of the fleet, including some Airbuses.

Your showing your ignorance, US' Airbus aircraft are not old.

So who is showing their ignorance...

Jim

I was told clt express gates are maxed out, however the clt airport building project announced this week is said to include 12 more gates for the express concourse.
More flights with fewer gates. Gate usage more flights will less gates. This was suppose to be the genius behind metro jet

Those geniuses are long gone or under cover now

philly tower you on here!

Of course it wasn't profitable. It's because the greedy, overpaid, lazy slugs that Tempe has to put up with (known as the frontline employees who are setting one performance record after another.)

If only everybody would pay to come to work, ABE-MCO would have been handsomely profitable.

You just don't get the corporate American mindset.
Not to disagree with how things are currently handled, but this took place before the Tempe crowd showed up. The CCY Gang was just as clueless, possibly ever more so than the current. They refused to raise fares a few bucks to see if the market would become profitable, and they used this strategy all over the system. There was no direct competition, and the flt may have worked out if they made an attempt. I say raise the fare, and if the passengers stop coming, then pull the plug.

Not surprisingly you resort to personal attacks when someone disagrees with you, despite when one your colleagues validates my judgement that US Air aircraft are old. You keep misusing contractions and possessive adjectives, who does that make look dumb? My name is Joshua or Josh, not Joshie.

Josh

Come on Joshie,

You still ignored the facts and questions you were asked.

according to that Josh US fleet averages just 12.6 yrs thats not really that old especially compared to the fact that AA has md-80s just like DL which are a lot older than the airbus aircraft

I rarely fly MD80s not really by choice I just have only flown on a few in the past year. Brand new 738s are plentiful, sure the 767/757 fleets are getting up in age too but overall the AA fleet is much better than USAir.

Josh

And you know this how?

You have flown on and have the technical background and inspected every single plane?

Your a joke.

Josh I remember (2 yrs ago) the FAA grounded all of AA MD-80s due to issues with the wiring. USAirways Airbus is quite a bit younger than the AA MD-80s. I cant remember any other aircraft type being grounded in the last 5 yrs. All DC-10s were grounded for a few weeks back in the 70s due to issues. But as far as the averag age fleet AA is older than US so your theory that AA fleet is better really is not true

I know from the route I fly from BOS are mainly on new 737-800s. The MD-80s and 767-200s serving JFK-LAX/SFO are very old however. Besides the AA aircraft are much better than USAir even your 2009 delivered A330s and new A321s that I took to CLT several months ago. USAir blows.

Josh

Once again what's your technical training to back up your claim?

Do you hold an A&P license?

Are you an Aerospace Engineer?

FAA Inspector?

Your a passenger and you are not backing anything up with facts.

You are a joke and with each post you reiterate that fact!

Who is US Air?

That name was changed in 1996.
