Snapback for the East?

The westies get more benefits than the east siders in fleet also. Last I checked, the east siders didn't even get paid if they called in sick, yet they still gave up a large portion of their profit sharing to the westies, and will most likely give up the winning arbitration lotto ticket to help preserve a dozen stations out west that only have a combined membership of a couple hundred folks. I haven't heard many east siders complain, I'm just mentioning the facts.
I'm not sure how the westies can think they are getting the short end of the stick unless they all have the "you owe me" mentality. In which case, nothing would suffice.

regards,

Have you even seen our payscale?

Have you even met and talked to any West fleet service?

Please confirm or deny! Heard Frank S. came and talked to dayshifters in PHX and told them snapback was a done deal for the easties. Please don't slam me for trying to spread rumors. Just trying to get to the real scoop since good ole Frank S. never tells anything to us lowlife west graveshift workers.
A "Done Deal?"
History will tell you, when it pertains to this airline, When you hear those 2 words, it is anything But, A "Done Deal."
But I am Cautiously Optimistic that something Positive will come out of this Change of Control Grievance.

I agree with Nelson's thread. Cwa passenger service east, lost 5.00 an hour and an adjusted paydate seniority date. Our medical went up,first 5 days on sick are 50% pay, on the west however, they got a "CONTRACT", something they never bargained when they were unionized, no adjusted paydate seniority (which means someone with the same years on the west makes more than the east).
The profit sharing was split between east and west, even thought the profit sharing money came from the east concessions. They got to keep their cheap medical until the end of this year and were not affected by the 50% pay deduction for sick calls. They also were not affected by "early out b.s., filling of vacancies at starting pay "!

The only thing the east got out of this deal was date of hire seniority, which we would have won anyway had it gone to arbitration.

So, with that said, they should be kissing our behinds because as of january 2008 their pay scales went up totally to ours, something that would have never ever , ever had happened if this merger didn't happen.

This company made a huge mistake with their culture bs and dividing us east versus west. They cause a huge rivalry amongst the work groups, something they are famous for. Take that to the bank!

Insp89 and Allstrike we have all talked one on one, We all know what we are up against(AND IT IS NOT EAST V WEST ITS THE COMPANY!)my UNION BROTHERS. When WE all learn we are on the same side and start to fight as a team, That's when IMPO things will start to change. Have a good one 89 and allstrike, If half the people I meet from the east have the common sense as you two do there is hope! But dam I like to stir that POT 🙄

West CSA's are now on the 50% sick days and East medical plans. Vacation and holidays go to the East next year, when we go to the full East pay.

Yes, only as of April 9, 2007, operational employee integration. You guys have had quite the savings since then. This animosity has been caused by management, not the employee groups. We are lucky though that the IBT/CWA Passenger Service Association have finally finished the transition. My heart goes out to the other unions, IAM, AFA, ALPA etc.

and, I use to work for Braniff Intl a long time ago, great airline, great management that were wonderful to the employees even with a union!

Got to love/hate deregulation and the must hiring of Braniff employees. I thing all layoff airline employees should have preferential hiring. My station closed because of deregulation and I got lay off many many many years ago had Allegheny-Mohawk Labor Protective Provisions, provided by law and the Company...

awausairtech,
Good to hear from you, and you are right, we must get past this east vs. west garbage..
I made it thru the usair-piedmont merger, and then the usair-piedmont-psa merger,
So I guess one more won't hurt..[empire-lake central-mowhawk-allegheney-usair-piedmont-psa-america west]... Will it ever end? I probably missed one or got them out of order.

the problem i see hear from the west fleet is that weve had a contract thats been negotiable for almost two years and have gotten nothin. Ive seen the inside numbers and have talked to people on the inside and the west FS cost to the company vs the east is about 10 percent less. the east is making only 10 percent more. why would anyone on the west just want what the east currently has that they got in BANKRUPTCY? The IAM needs to negotaite the west a seperate contract and aim for the throat. the west should not give anything up and get the pay as well. In 09 we can all negotiate together.

Some folks handle advancing years much better than others. We have a guy in PHX that fought in the Pacific Islands in WWII. Don't know his exact age and never asked. He works at T-point. He plays team lead when the team lead is absent and yells at young whippersnappers that don't pull their own weight. He has knee troubles but still works better than many 60 years his junior. He travels overseas frequently with many visits to Wales. Sharp as a tack. Hope I haven't jinxed his good fortune by saying anything.
