What's new

Somebody tell me..

i agree there homie...but in this time in this industry i feel a union may be the best choice for all.....if not, with the stroke of a pen jobs outsourced right now...no contest.
but I ask..has not the same thing happened with, a union. Corporate terrosists have found a new GOD, and his name is the JUDGE..just ask and he taketh away.. with the stroke of a pen..your security blanket is gone..... and as that happens the Union bosses say.......you decided your fate, we were only their messenger. OH...BTW...dont forget to pay them dues..so Labor can keep it's strenght in Amerika.

OH ..I forgot..Never pay for sonething that is free, and if it's to good to be true..it probably is. You all just think on that!

It was Bill Franke ( our old CEO)who shut down the hanger and layed off over 500 techs to try and stop us from voting in the IBT. we had some drives for amfa start but they told us they were to busy for us they were working on united and aa at the time this was just after southwest went to them.
i must now ask...IBT...when would be a good time to step up to the plate regarding these 500 lost jobs??now you are in the middle of section 6 neg's....
you guys chastise IAM but i see no willingness to walk to get those lost jobs back.
why do you dis' IAM for letting some jobs get outsourced, but on the other hand you have looked the other way with this??

The layed off techs were recalled and came back at their discretion in 1998/1999...if they hadn't already been rehired. And I believe that was part of the original contract......to bring those people back.

That's all I know about that.

well if that suits the membership as a 'win'...ok but losing that work and the positions i feel it may be worth walking...but i see no new attempts at scope improvements in your current attempt.
you can chastise IAM all you wish, and yes maybe you got those displaced back...but i bet it was through attrition replacement...
bottom line..even after the bring back...you're still 500 in the hole. 😉

well then why did some of the AWA mechs on here make claims as to outsourcing gone out the door due to someone (i don't recall name)before??
i'm confused....
Franke and AMFA kinda similar..

You seem to like to talk all kinds of crap about the IBTs weak scope and there inability to change or improve it. At the same time you and your brother 700 state CBA's cant be oppened until they are ammendable. After the IAMs scope was gutted they could'nt do anything until negotiations either ammendment date or BK, right? Well the IBT had to wait cause fortunatly we dodged the BK.

As for the callbacks ( as some fired 95' mechanics are affectionately called) they were called back in large groups over a relitively short period of time. Not really a attrition type thing, the FAA kinda helped that.

our gutted scope has more work protections than yours dude....
and you guys are lucky you dodged the BK bullet....or you'd be in the same boat, maybe worse off than we were  .

30 days later with out AWA and we would not have to worry what USAIR had to say or the IAM.
As it is now we need a company wide drive for CORK's to fix this USAIR TITANIC and a TRASH CAN for the IAM contract.

And Dougie said without the merger HP would have run out of cash by the end of 05 and had to file also.

How many ibt AMTs are at TIMCO in Macon, GA or Aeroman in San Salvador, El Salvador overhauling HP's aircraft?

AND YOU BLEAVE THIS!!!!. I know this will be hard for you without the IAM telling you some kind of BS from the company, But I will try. 1. How many 1/4 did we lose money AWA? 2. How many IAM amt's SCAB at NWA and work at TIMCO at PIT or Macon! DP will say this so he can say we have no money for you. Wake up you are getting SMOKE BLOWEN UP YOUR A#@. IF AWA was low on cash they would of just went to the investers and got the money but they saw a way to expand.

Hell dont answer there everywhere..

Need I go on?????

AWA had $560 mil in the bank unrestricted. I feel they spent massive amounts of cash on A/C purchases (17 new Buses)in 04-05 to make this deal an inevability. Check there annual reports they spent $400mil in 04 and $700mil in 05' in a/c purchases not rental or leases. Smart move, like something old Doug would do?? The ATSB had a chokehold limit of $250 mil liquid cash. They were close around the merger but they planned that.

Mr. 7 have you become absent minded? You know as well as I do that "claiming poverty" is a good way to let the world know that there is no money for the employees.

I am sure that you are aware that AWA officers have been yelling poverty for years (as they run to the bank to cash their bonus checks).

DP is very good at raising money for the company (remember the money to get U out of BK). Do you really believe that he would have allowed the company to go "tango uniform". If the company fails then DP is a failure. DP is working for his future as well as the future of the company.

Be sure to read smmech's post again. post # 27 🙂

ibt(before loss to AMFA) at WN = outsource heavy
ibt at CO = outsourcing heavy
ibt at UPS = outsourcing heavy

So please show me where the ibt overhauls aircraft at a major carrier.
