Are flights where food is sold on board going to be staffed with minimum crew?
If not are they going to get the full crew compliment that is used now? ex. 6 f/a's on a transcon 757 dinner flight, 8 f/a's on a 767 transcon.

.....and then I woke up....
I dont see anything more than min crew on all flights till a grievence is filed-
stay tuned-

I doubt seriously that there are grounds for a grievance on this issue.

Reasons:
1. Catering is going to be approx. 20% of the load. On a full S80, that's approx. 25 pre-packaged boxes to pass out and collect money for.
2. Since the company in its infinite wisdom has chosen to offer only "shelf-stable" gerbil food except on transcons, I doubt you will sell the 25 you have.
3. Given the description of the contents, no court in the land would call it a "meal service."
4. The CBA (what's left of it) clearly states that the company gets to decide the duties of the flight attendant. If the company adds "sells snack boxes" to the duties description, there is nothing the union can do about it until the next negotiation unless they can prove undue hardship on the crew--see points 1 and 2.
5. People, this ain't exactly like the 777 understaffing, now is it?

You worry about a Transcon!! Try to think about the 9 hour flight from ORD to HNL and OGG. Now that is a long time with no food. Well, except if you have CASH to purchase it onboard. ALL Hawaii flights, including to and from ORD and DFW will also be selling food starting FEB. 1st.

Wait until the Clampets start bringing their own horseradish and limberger cheese sandwiches . . . . and then tell the FAs they want them heated up in the galley ovens.

Looks like the "American" customer is going to get what they want . . . . another trailer trash cattle car with the riders thinking they should be served champagne because it's not an "LCC." Reserved seating is next to go. Yea, then it can be a run for the door to keep from getting a middle seat.

Smash 'em in Gerald and charge $99. That's what they want.

SW seems to be doing quite well with their trailer trash and being paid more than you. John Ward demoted you and your work rules.

That's only until someone can figure out how to install Coke machines with credit card readers into the rear galleys... 😉
