State proposes work requirement for food stamps

You obviously don't know a thing about the tech industry.

If you knew something about the DOD you would know that not every program has to have cost overruns.  Unfortunately those programs seem to be the exception and not the rule.

The above is why Rand looks attractive. He's more nuanced and pragmatic then his Dad.

Like I said before he's going to have to learn not to run when an uncomfortable question is asked.

You have to give the military credit though, they transferred some 4.3 Billion with a B of military equipment to local police. At least they are trying to control costs.

Yes I've seen the pictures.  Kinda disturbing seeing the police looking like the military and armed like them.

Of course not every program HAS to have cost overruns but, when you are making something new you are going to have unexpected expenses. When you have a bunch of new things and are trying to make them work together as one the chances of staying in budget decrease.

Look at what has happened with the 787.

I would have left as well. Disturb me when I'm eating and count on being dismissed out of hand

That's why you do not hold elected office.

Refusing to accept rudeness has little to do with Public Office or the holding thereof.

IF you believe Rand Paul's story he says he had an interview request and left. I don't know if he did or he didn't and further, refusing to be accosted during lunch by two activists trying to play gotcha to me is huge positive.

Few problems with that.  First, he was not eating lunch a private restaurant,  he was eating at what looks like an out side patio at a fund raising event.  If you listen to the video right at the being you can hear someone on a microphone.  He is in the same shirt that he was just speaking to the crowd in.  So the excuse that his lunch is being 'disturbed' is out right false.  Beyond that, he is a public servant and the lady and man who are talking to King pay their salary.  Also, looking at the video, the two people were talking to King, not Paul although I am sure they would have asked him as well.  The simple fact of the video is that he skated out to duck the issue.  According to the article, his spokesman said he had to leave for another event.  Lunch was never mentioned.

As a side note, I thought it was rather funny that at the 4 min mark someone tried to get the person behind the camera to shut it off.

And again, this is why you do not hold office.  If you are at a canmoaing event, you are going to be asked questions.  Ducking them does not do very much for your credibility

MY LUNCH, MY TIME!
End of story. I don't care if one of the two who walked up to me during lunch was Jesus Christ with the cross on his back and the other was Barack Obama. If it were I'd invite them to join me for lunch. Any other person, If it were me, I'd have had two very large "Security Men" present and the two activists after being politely being asked to wait until I finished lunch would have left, either voluntarily or otherwise. In good health or otherwise

Maybe I will be in public office? I have been asked to consider a run by two people in my area. I have the right to conduct myself as I choose. If I ever did run I'd make it common knowledge that you don't bother him when he's eating, PERIOD!

Public speaking event. Not your time. You want privacy, go somewhere that is ....oh what's the word I'm looking for ..... OH yea .... PRIVATE.

If you are a politician and don't want to be asked tough questions don't appear in public.  That's where he was at, in public at a public event.  I bet you if she asked him a question about one of his favorite subjects that has a scripted response he would he would have stayed.

What has happened with the 787 has more to do with poor decision making rather than technical details.  The list of those mistakes is well known.  Here's one however that a lot of people probably have not heard before.

It's my time if I say it is. That's what Liberty is. The right to create your own rules as long as you don't initiate force against another or infringe upon another's rights.

The activists in question can speak freely in a public place. Doesn't mean I have to acknowledge them or engage them in any way if I choose not to do so.For some Liberty is sooo hard to grasp. Perhaps a lack of a deity in their life explains it????
