for a station that has only 20 employees inside have a need for a secy?
Especially one that creates her own hours?

She acts like the boss...

We have a shift mgr and our station mgr is somewhat disorganized..matters not WE DO NOT HAVE THE NEED FOR ONE.

And she's clerical, so non-union.

Sounds like the secretary told somebody no! Unbelieveable that you would suggest somebody's job should be elliminated because her hours don't suit you. She's clerical? Non-union? That makes it ok to dispose of her? You are pathetic.

U dont have the facts so DONT be judgemental.

Should it take 1 month to EXCHANGE uniform pieces?Hmmm?

Talk about pathetic..dont go there...UNLESS u have facts Counselor.

Point is. if you cannot preform your daily duties why bother being there?
 
Its not pathetic....whats pathetic is NOT NEEDING ONE (yet we still keep one around ) but we have to furlough 4.....THATS WHAT IS PATHETIC!!!

I am with you wench.....its just another body to make the manager look good---and believe me ours did/does.
 
Thank YOu and yes, she does COVER his butt.

We had 8 furloughs last month.

His clerk made mistakes on swaps prior to 'birdbrain'..She's no prize.
 
Go figure...ours did too...you sure we are not from the same cty???!!!
Well, off to job hunt---am one of those fortunate to be furloughed!!! BTW do you have a printer hooked up to your birdbrain??? And is yours 2 minutes off??

Hear hear. That attitude should be equally applied to any employee, union or not. Don't throw stones in the glass house. There are plenty of union workers who don't do their job very well either.
 
Most station managers would be lost without their admin secretary........... they usually do more work than all the managers put together. 😀 I know they do twice as much work as a couple of our CSS's-(Union) ....... 😉

And more than a few Station Managers are lost with admin reps.
 
"Secretaries" What is this, 1974? 🙂

Many small outstations never had admin reps until the HP merger. Many of also got shift managers and additional CSSs. Some of this increased top heaviness may have been needed because of West infinitely more bureaucratic way of doing things, but it still makes one wonder at the increased top heaviness.
 
Our admin rep/secretary is male ..... our mgr is female ...... and yes I think they are both headeral-sexual ...... but no I haven't seen any inappropriate behavior .... 😉
 
Have you ever seen their payscale ? ...... all the work and frustration - I am amazed anyone stays. Some stations secretaries work very hard for a little bit of money.
