Suha Fired in PHL ?

Tony, Tony he's the man. If he can't fix it, nobody can!

I hope you're right. Many have come before Tony - all seen as 'the savior' in the beginning and then villified. Pelc, for instance. Apparently, Arkan too. Even Rhoderick. Stryker. Fahnestock. Roycroft. Sklar. I spent my time on "the rock" and am glad I got out when I did.

I guess PHL station directors are sort of like US CEOs. Love 'em when they start, but as soon as they start making life difficult by making people actually - gasp - work for a living, everyone hates them and digs in until they buckle. Too bad...a lot of wasted talent and a lot of angry customers.

My belief is that the company feels that if Tony can't do it, then it is broken and beyond repair. This is the nuclear option. I would like to have been a fly on the wall when the decision to send him was made. Something must have happened out there.

Phl is a graveyard for managers.A hardass will falter in months!

Depends on the type of "Hardass" this gentleman is. The whip & chair bully of the town type will absolutely fail.

However a hard nosed, no BS guy who treats everyone with dignity & respect, who is as quick with a smile and a compliment as he is with a kick in the ass will IMO do quite well.

Here's hoping the new Sheriff has what it takes.

Bob:

I agree with your previous post. Fixing Philly
to work flawlessly is next to impossible.
All we can hope for is that middle ground can
be achieved, and the hemmorhaging will subside
to the point that the hub will be functional
rather than dysfunctional as it is now.
Regardless of the amount of money and effort
thrown at PHL, it will never be as economical
as PIT on a purely connecting hub scale.

There is always the possibility that PIT
will be built back up for NE and midwest
conex flights, while PHL is drawn down to
a Transatlantic hub and originating market.

Barb, can you get a new picture that is very hard to look at?

Do you want the dog back?

Tony is a good guy, he cleaned up CMH from the first head of the hub and did a good job.

What are other rumors in/or about PIT? Also.....where is the BULL?

It is almost certainly a complete coincidence, but it seems that Philly actually did good job getting bags on planes tosay. On a "weather day", yet. Several outstations had a good PAWOB day. One station reports only five PHL PAWOBS taken today and all the missed bags from yesterday (about 30) arrived.

Good luck to Tony. Philly has a way of grinding managers down. Even the good ones!

I was under the impression that when Suha went to PHL it was only a temp job to begin with. He was sent there for about a 1 year stint until he was able to retire. While the announcement of the change may seem rather quick, perhaps it was in the cards the entire time. Suha would go to PHL for a year while the merger was put in place and a suitable replacement found.
