Edited to add: I am not posting this to tout my own horn but to show others that it doesn't take much. It cost me less than $10.00 and I am sure it will help make their day go a bit easier.

So this morning I woke up and instead of going directly to work I made a detour through the grocery store and picked up a case of water and some doughnuts.

I drove them over to the picket line in front of the Maint. building in SEA and dropped them off. I don't fly frequently enough on NW to feel that buying a ticket on another airline would be of any great impact and I wanted to make a difference.

I think the guys there didn't quite know what to think to have someone from the general public support them in such a way... Anyway, if anyone from SEA is reading this and there is something you guys need specifically please PM me and let me know; I don't have a bunch of money at my disposal but I can try to get what you need.

I'll be dropping off some dinner later today for the people there on evening shift...

I too support organized labor in the US as we try to protect our true professions. Why does the media continue to talk about "replacement workers" rather than the official term ---scab. You go AMFA and IAM!

OK... just witnessed something that was very cool...

Tonight I was dropping off some sandwiches and chips for the people walking near the SEA maint. facility and took some time to chat with a gentleman there.

While we were talking a semi-truck pulled up on the road. You could see the driver calling someone then he slowly pulled in the driveway, flipped a u-turn, and drove off down the road... It was very, very cool to watch something like that... damn near brought tears to my eyes....

I also had the opportunity to wave hello to the goons sitting in their cars taking photos/video... Wanted to flip them off but that wouldn't be very ladylike 🙂
