Ted Cruz Announces

I suppose if Trump was around back then , he'd be known as Lyin Abe instead of Honest Abe.

I'll ask again, was Lincoln sleazy in 1860?
Cruz redefines sleazy.  Research his campaign manager.  He can quote scripture and proclaim Jesus as his lord and savior, but I think even JC would have a hard time getting past the Cruz sleaze.

You didn't read the part about how Lincoln printed up counterfeit tickets to pack the hall with his supporters.

It's politics, it's rough and tumble and btw, trump has benefited greatly with a willing media.
Nobody in the media is asking him why he won't debate Cruz.

That will never work.  Think of the whole Corporate Tax Departments of accountants and lawyers who would be put out of work if there were a flat tax applied to businesses.  I know.  We can raise the flat tax on all individuals earning less that $100,000/year to 25% and leave the arcane, wordy corporate tax laws in place with only the adjustments needed to raise the percentage of corporations paying no income tax to 3 in 5.  That will do the trick.

But Ted wants 10%, not 25%.  And then there's that 16% flat tax on corporations.  It's still iffy about the VAT...Ted says it isn't...but the tax foundation still talks about it, and as recently at January, Forbes, a publication that has been cited as a credible source, seens to indicate the same thing  http://www.forbes.com/sites/beltway/2016/01/15/ted-cruzs-business-flat-tax-is-a-vat/#6390ac1e580f .

One thing I found interesting is that we really don't know what Ted's plan REALLY is.  At first his 10% flat tax didn't have any deductions.  Including mortgage interest and charitable giving.  I think some realtors in Texas might have pulled him aside to point out that, without that carrot of the mortgage interest write off, people might not want to buy houses.  So that got added back.

But the VAT....he doesn't really mention on his website, so people who support him might be inclined to say "it's not a VAT...it's a flat tax of 16%".   But the tax foundation and other sources seem to indicate that it most certainly IS a VAT....and the net effect is that it's going to get passed on to consumers - so while there might not be a sales tax of 16%, that $100 widget will cost $116.  Sales tax on top of that.   In other words....the middle class gets screwed again.

Now, KC, if the politicians want that told, they'll tell it.

I heard Trump went birther on Cruz. Is Trump really that stupid or is he just an attention whore?
Whoa! Questioning Cruz's qualification for pres should be an issue. His father was Cuban, his mother was, a-hem, American, and he was born in Canada, which technically is as American as Mexicans, Panamanians, Brazilians and any other American born on the American continent.

Gee as a Urapeeon, I'm surprised u don't c it!
