I suggest keep bringing that up for out of 3600 pilots, only 735 "signed", oh, about 20% or so after how many years?

Actually it was. When we were in negotiations and in arbitration. The east MEC wouldn't allow the MC to come off of DOH at all. They had no wiggle room whatsoever. No, the lack of compromise came from the east. And now with USAPA as the CBA and single carrier status, there is no way to compromise. This was your bed you made. Enjoy it.

BTW, LOA 93 saves the company around $360M a year. DP thanks you.

This seems to be a relatively old theme, that the East was not going, nor allowed by their MEC to come off DOH, and thus created the failure that was Nic. Bad boys indeed. Other than those like Boingboy who sell out their merger partners with no such protections, the East was indeed willing to negotiate for fences and restrictions. That approach is now in stone. Remember that little NMB election, with DOH in the charter? That is now your union, and it was not a splinter group of MEC reps doing it, it was the majority of our (and your!) pilots. Ouch!

But you Westies believed the worst you could ever do in arbitration was DOH..and anything better was a win. Thus you negotiated for nothing. Even against the wishes of certain members of the East MEC, furlough protection using length of service was offered at Wye River. Offered legally in good faith. But the West contingent was ordered, here it comes...to not negotiate at all. We all know how that affected furloughs on the West.

Here we be. DOH prevails in the absence of new contracts..but indeed it prevails.

No pilot on either side can predict the future of this union, much less the end results of our one sided battle against a totally corrupt management..but one thing is for sure. Nic is dead. There is no scenario where it ever returns from that death, other than in the retro fantasies on this forum. RIP.

If you think DOH with fences is all your MEC wanted, then you're naive. DOH was just a small piece of the robbery they were trying to commit.

And Reed, Nic is alive an well. Its S22. Its on Parker's desk. Nothing else has been submitted to take its place. The only thing dead here is DOH. You can fantasize all you want, but DOH is no longer an option.

And you guys need to get together and get your stories straight. One of you says we were uncompromising in our demands during negotiations and you say we negotiated for nothing.
