Temporary Injunction against USAPA filed today

Something that hasn't been mentioned here is the difference between flying out of PHX and flying on the East coast.

PHX is mostly good flying weather, as is all of the West coast, so there are more options as far as approaches (ILS vz visual). Lower weather minimums, etc. create more issues for maintanence to keep up with along with all the other systems. Also, and I don't have actual numbers here, just generalities....we have 2/3s of the fleet flying in the East and to Europe. (ETOPS is also more restrictive for maintanence)

Has it occured to you guys that maybe Maintanence is just having a hard time keeping up with the fleet with the amount of time the hulls are staying in the air? Maybe that's always been a problem for airlines operating in the East and the Tempe maintanence plan does well in PHX, but is struggling to keep up out here.

Not just in fixing problems, but getting things done right. Our 767 that we picked up for a Europe trip last night had an MEL on the forward galley water. The problem was that the faucet was leaking all the time and an MEL was applied. The whole front galley water was turned off......a big inconvience for the Atlantic 1st class service. After getting on the aircraft and checking out the problem.....trying to decide if we needed to order extra bottled water to compensate, we found that the MEL was written up wrong. The whole galley water system should have never been shut down....for the last 4 days while crossing the Atlantic. Apparently the mechanic who first MELd the system was in a hurry and got it wrong.

Another delay. Once again, those pesky pilots want the aircraft to operate properly....DUH!!

I think the East system is behind the power curve in maintaning the aircraft and the pilots are tired of limping the aircraft around, while the problem is snowballing....along with tired of being blamed and disrespected.

as many a novice, you confuse regulation with safety. Mostly, but not always, they overlap. I follow every known reg and company rule to the letter, especially the ones concerning having broken aircraft fixed or waiting for the company to try with another aircraft and I seem to have a pretty darn good record.

So those easties claiming that the increase in write-ups is at least partially due to easties having decided to follow the FAR's instead of carrying minor write-ups to a maintenance base means easties are novices....

It was buried because it's BS. If its not construction it's weather or some other crap. No one cares to hear you try to justify your work action.

Oh...wait...you forgot to say that that is your HUMBLE opinion. It is not BS, but my humble opinion.

I fully retract my apology because you have no respect for another opinion. As I stated before...it's all about you, [deleted].

Give it some time...you to will be hammered on the anvil of life, junior.

No, how did you get that? Go cash your social security check.

I was talking about myself. I never intentionally "bury" write ups. Even minor ones. Ever. Even when I was right seat. I might have even pissed you off, once for doing so. Those I respect never do so.

I will readjust my writing style to include morons.

Yeah....just like I thought. no respect for anyone. Maybe someone else would like to read it. Maybe you're not eveyone here.

No...you're just a lowlife DH. The more I learn about you.....and this is a learning process, the more I learn that you just need your ### kicked. You just are young and haven't run into the right ### whooper yet. I am sure it will happen though. Someday, you will regain your wits while sitting on the ground and think, " this is what breeze was talking about". DUH!

Ah, but your used "novices" to address those who said the West might be carrying minor discrepancies to maintenance bases. If your opinion of those who do that is that they are novices, and other easties say things like...well, let me just quote one:

So if the East pilots have in the past carried items

then the logical extension is that east pilots were novices before they all just coincidentally decided to stop doing it the same day. Now I know that logic is a foreign concept for some east posters, but try hard to follow along.

Shooting the barn from inside is harder than this (or maybe shooting an airplane from it's cockpit is more appropriate), but not necessarily more fun...

Does anyone know how in depth the company goes when doing a PSYC exam on our pilots? I swear if some of these guys are pilots they really need help!

I only know about back in 1979. I was asked my favorite color and we talked about that for 30 minutes. Maybe that was due to my initial answer - "My favorite color for what?"

Sorry to be a buttinski. I asked a question earlier...
