What's new

The A330-200 orders still on the books...

Before going over the Pacific with 332s, I would think a better market to start up would be PHX/Europe. My guess would be PHX/FRA will be first to tie in with the Star Alliance. PHX/LGW,MAN would be excellent markets as well. The agents in LGW have told me the 2 most flown to destinations out of LGW are LAS and MCO. Florida can be fed through CLT and PHL, but LAS easily could be fed through PHX.
Couldn't 767-200s/300s operated under the HP certificate be utilized now to fly those services? Are'nt there a/c
available for lease? It is my understanding that the 757/767 have the same type rating for pilots and require
only differences training.

HP does not have the 767 on their operating certificate.

Although the 757 and 767 are the same type rating they are two entirely different aircraft. They are much more dissimilar than they are similar. Boeing paid the FAA big bucks to get them under the same certificate.

I wonder if anyone in upper management is looking at the Emirates A340-600's that they will not be taking delivery of.......... That plane would give US the reach to Asia from any of thier hubs and open PHL up for TLV service 🙂

Could be used in the short term until the new birds arrive. From what i have been reading, Airbus seems to be VERY willing to cut deals on the se aircraft....

Just thought i would throw that out there...........

that very thought crossed my mind when i read about emirates delivery rejection or conversion (whatever it is?)i think, however, the 600 is too much airplane for u's needs. range is one thing; filling seats is another.
asian expansion would be great! i just cannot see a self proclaimed low cost carrier competing with the service and ammenities offered by indigenous asian carriers. although, i do suspect there is enough demand to support such service from phl? interesting stuff, nevertheless...

I think it could be do-able and profitable from your PHL hub. Its a city with no Asian carrier presence.......
