Hmmm. I knew I smelled blood in the water somewhere...and here's your thread, lol. Shouldn't there be the usual poll of who is voting for or against?
Anyway, I shall ask you to notice two things:
1. The silence on this board is deafening.
2. The advice being given in terms of 'what to do' is equally deafening.
Remember how proud and righteous the no voters were when they voted down the initial offering? Now look at them. They are standing in piddle and they have nobody to blame but themselves for listening to the advice of knuckleheads who thought they knew it all. Remember all the stuff we read on here: " 'you wouldn't buy the first car you looked at', 'this is a concesionary contract', 'can you say concession', 'this ta is a pos' 'you never vote in the first offer " Oh and then there was all the advice from lawyers and everyone else in the legal and business world. All those friends who said the contract was awful and gave the advice to vote it down. Yes, I think you remember that and then there was a group of "new" same ol' same ol' union officers appointed to really em how its done? lol.
No look at this mess. We have a second offering that is worse than first and now the prospect of a merger looms directly ahead of us.
I was a yes voter from the get go and said so. Now, I'm still a yes, but not as enthusiastically as I was the first time out. There is some discussion as to why voting no might make sense in terms of list integration and so on, but if the merger protection scope clause in not in effect who cares!
Here's how things are progessing:
1. One group is insulted to the max and will vote no just for the sake of being mad and voting no. Mmm hmm. They're really stickn' it to the man! LOL These people I surmize are self punishers...I really wish they would exercise their self destructive ways in a way that is more personal.
2. Another group is voting yes, but are annoyed that so much more was lost in this "new" do over. These people are smart cookies!
3. A larger group of fa's are mad, really mad actually, but are going to go to the road shows to get a better understanding and to ask questions ala 'what happens if' These people are learning to think for themselves. The risk with this group is that they are still learning to think for themselves and thus, will likely fall back to asking for advice from the know it alls who told them how to misvote in the first go round. They are still easily swept away by the opinions of former union officers with axes to grind, business persons or most anyone with a title. Let's not forget adages about how to make a sound decision. [I find it hard to believe people really make important decisions based upon the adage of 'you wouldn't buy the first car you looked at...yet I'm certain these are the same peopel that believe in love at first sight!]
Stay tuned for the blame game...the membership at large of course is never to blame! lol.
