What's new

The same old same old at the new NW.

didn't some of those "flawless mechanics" now at NW used to sport the AMFA patch on their shirt?
Yes they did and most still do.

AMFA came to the zones today posting safety posters on the bulletin boards. What the hell is that all about? We bust every safety record there is and they want to come in a post safety bulletins?

Nope. 95% of the former NWA union scabs that crossed were ex-IAM officers and brainwashed IAM cultists.
As usual Hackman you have missed the mark once again. I may not have actual numbers for you but there is no way the IAM is going to win a representation vote from the AMFA Scabs. When the IAM is mentioned at ant time these guys get furious. I have yet to hear one AMFA Scab say anything good about the IAM.

ok then, I can understand not wanting to cut your own people, but what about the UAW? Are they gonna strike because of layoffs? If that was always the case, then no cars would ever get produced. Why the hell were cleaners forced into a mechs union? Im sure AMFA wasn't complaining after they get union dues from the hundreds of cleaners they had. Maybe in your eyes crossing the picket line is immoral, but do you think a scab cares? if a scab had a family, putting food on the table, and clothes on childrens back is first and foremost. You cant deny not wanting to care for your family. Im on no ones side. Im not for or against AMFA, nor for NWA or the scabs. But i can see both sides of the argument. From what I hear AMFA did a good job at NWA and I would not want to cut my own workers who have been there for years. But NWA is not gonna beg AMFA to stay. No union at NWA is bigger or more powerful than the airline. Who is winning the battle at NWA? it certainly is not the unions. So what do you say mesaba? no matter what you say, the scabs are not gonna go away.

yes pto, you sure did bust all the safety records--that is why there is a weekly emergency problem at NWA!

Danny7; if the SCAB AIR is winning the battle, then explain why did the F/As reject their contract, the second union to do so. And if they strike, you can kiss Scab Air goodby. Scab Air wont be able to exit ch11 due to its ongoing strike. Scabs will disappear when Scab Air shuts down

If the F/A are dumb enough to strike they will lose their jobs, end of story. They will just be another casualty of northwest. How hard is it to train someone how to push a galley cart up and down the aisle of a plane, and train them on safety. There are hundreds of younger, and more friendlier f/a looking for a job out there. They will be replaced faster and more easier than the mechanics, and cleaners. I guarantee northwest can hire new F/A in less than a week. A F/A strike is hardly the biggest concern with NWA. If they say they will strike, NWA will tell them dont let the door hit you in the ass on the way out just like AMFA. Do you people not understand there are scabs out there willing to replace a union worker at any given moment, especially in the airline business. A F/A strike would do nothing to NWA because they can replace them like water. That is hardly a threat to NWA are you kidding. Now if the pilots went on strike, that would shut down the airline, but they allready settled out their differences. The pilots were smart enough not to do it, not only for NWA sake, but their own. No other airline in bankruptcy will hire a pilot on strike.

NWA cannot hire enough scabs to do the shoddy maintaince now, what makes you think that they can get enough scabs to perform the job of the Professional F/As? You know that if the F/As strike, you wont have a mgmt level job at Scab Air. If the F/As do strike, you dam well know that SCAB AIR is finished. And remember that if even the rampers go on strike, then NWA cant replace all of them along with F/As at the same time.

A FA has to go through training, you cant hire them and one week later put them on a flight.

   You must have graduated from the same hack shops your ingnorant buddy PTO came from. Why don't you educate yourself before making such an ignaramous statement there dufus...

There's more to it than either you or I realize.

There are hundreds of younger, and more friendlier f/a looking for a job out there.

Maybe, but if the F/A's walk, there won;t be a NW to apply at.

They will be replaced faster and more easier than the mechanics, and cleaners. I guarantee northwest can hire new F/A in less than a week.

Sure they can hire them in less than a week; it's the background checks, training and everything else that takes so long.

A F/A strike would do nothing to NWA because they can replace them like water.

An F/A strike would close the doors at NW for good.

The pilots "settled" because they are ruled by the fear of losing 100-200k/year jobs. Thousands of PIC hours aren't exactly marketable "real world" job skills.

I know your post was intended to incite, but at least make an educated, cogent argument before you post this kind of stuff.

*in the tune of the Irish jig "Danny boy"*

Danny boy..................
oh Danny boy........................

I got shirts that are older than you............

oh Danny boy.........

(at least not bras, now that would be pathetic...20 yr old bras.......)

Well I for one think we will be very effective picketing.

No one would cross the picket like of those who do the NRT's........

And Jenny will be wearing her fishnet stockings, patent leather mary janes with one button missing inside the dress with victoria secret lacy frilly things underneath, incase we have problems with people taking flyers and paying some attention.

I told big daddy to do that but he wouldn't listen..... :bleh:

Some of those senior mamas doing "out-and-backs" here in the midwest aren't to be trifled with either.

Excellent.

With so many F/A's living all over (my "Heartland market" city has at least 3 or 4 that I can think of), I wonder how much (if any) picketing will take place at the outstations.

Well everyone, We will see what will happen wont we? it's only a matter of time......

AA F/A here volunteering my time to Walk the Line.

How odd that you would refer to any of the FAs as "dumb". Unlike you, most of us here aren't blessed with an IQ that is lower than room temperature.

You have so much to learn but judging from your post above, you may not be teachable. May I recommend a diet or orache and crow. In the end your words will show as nothing more than mindless drivel.
