Judge Gives US Airways Authority to Cut Union Pay
Well, the great Oz has spoken.
Will we have the tenacity to pull back the curtain or cower back to the emerald city?

"Essentially, United and US Airways are telling their unions, 'You really don't count in this anymore,' " Professor Chaison said.
With the court's involvement, "unions are not even a secondary player," he said. "They are a footnote."
United also repeated that it was "likely" to ask for the termination of its traditional employee pension plans, which it has said it wants to replace with 401(k) programs. The airline's efforts to terminate its retirement plans have drawn fire from its unions, which were not altered during the first round of cuts.
Nonetheless, United said the Association of Flight Attendants and the machinists union had agreed to drop efforts to appoint a trustee to run the airline, a move that in essence would have unseated Glenn F. Tilton, the chief executive. The terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
