I don't hate unions Bob. I just have absolutely no sympathy for those who choose to belong to a union and preach to everyone about how it is the only way to be treated fairly, yet in the next breath piss and moan about how bad their union negotiated pay and benefits are...

The rest of your blithering isn't even worth responding to.

And we have a right to complain in exchange for our union dues!
You and those like you who choose the corporate path of "follow the leader or else" have to suck up whatever is forced upon you. As in your case, you moved on.
And unlike you, we piss and moan equally about management and our union leadership. you, on the other hand, rarely find fault with management as if they were some kind of oracles who can do no wrong.
I don't belittle those who choose not to belong to unions. I don't need to be preached to about belonging to one.

I watched the Fox News statements to the contrary that Hltler was a leftist, as Glen Beck on his show stated the man was mostly an extreme left wing socialist. Hence the Nation Socialist Party he led to power. He also disarmed his country starting in 1933 by passing gun registration and then an outright ban later on, mostly to keep the Jews from fighting back and his country from staging a resistance.

I would surmise being a leader of the Socialist Party, disarming citizens, and being buddies with Communists points in the leftist direction.

Here you go Bob; http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TjpJP_jDXEc

How despicable of Glen Beck and Fox News. Its for reasons like this no educated people pay them or the Tea Party movement any attention.

Now *that's* funny. Perhaps you need to read between the lines a little more often, because I've laid quite a bit of fault and blame at management's feet, especially when it comes to employee relations and the PUP/PSP plans. I just try to keep it civil and not make it personal.

It's easy to claim that anyone without a union has to "suck it up" or go down on the boss. I'm sure there are still plenty of old-school types in M&E who can't stand being questioned even in private, but my experience at HDQ was that most directors & VP's were OK with people someone arguing against what they saw as a bad decision. And you learned pretty quick which ones were too close-minded to listen (e.g. Bonanno & Del Valle), and more importantly, how to work around that.

Please re-read my post.. I said "follow the leader or else."
I made no reference to doing "things" to the boss.
I can tell you from experience that i have seen quite a few supervisors and managers over the years hit the street because they failed to bow down to the area director's whim. Some pretty good supervisors and managers were in that mix.
Having spent my entire career in maintenance, that is how I gauge my opinions.
No if you want to exempt aircraft maintenance management from other types of management, feel free to do so.
Aicraft management promotions usually consisted of favortism and pet employees. A big factor in not getting the best people for the job, but the rather the best people who will do exactly what they are told to do without any independent thinking or logic.
That is the "follow the leader or else" management school of aircraft maintenance.

Lets see you critique your current employer. The one that pays you to post here. Then you can take your knee pads off,,,, and look for another job. Too uncivil and personal?

My ass hurts because I just fell off my chair. I'm actually in agreement with one thing Josh has said.

What are you saying Josh? Educated people only watch CBS or MSNBC etc.? BTW a lot of these problems were created by your so called educated people. It sort of depends on what is being taught, and by whom. Beck does his research, you gotta hand it to him. He also encourages his audience to not take his word on it, but to educate themselves - then make a decision. I've never seen one of your typical liberal news channel types from CBS, NBC, CNN etc., suggest to the audience "don't take my word for it, study the material yourself". 😉

I know I'm opening up a can of worms but here goes: Glenn Beck is despicable. His so-called "research" is nothing more than the paranoid compilations of a psychopath who clearly does not have both feet firmly planted in reality. And by the way, I'm not a fan of ANY of the on-air news channels. They all pathetically lack credibility and insightful, shrewd reporting, opting instead to be garish messengers of hyperbole opinions and unimportant fluff. But let me take this one step further in regards to FOX news. Year after year polls show that the viewers of FOX news, specifically, are the most misinformed citizens of our country when it comes to politics and news. That's just a plain fact. The major media outlets (but especially FOX news in particular) are responsible for the dumbing-down and pandering to a large segment of our society that will not take the time to thoughtfully educate themselves about what is fact and what is fiction. A prosperous Democracy requires its citizens to be properly educated and informed. Sadly, the United States is sorely lacking in that department.

On a happier note...today is Darwin Day. Happy Darwin Day to all.

No, you're the one wearing knee pads Bob. You serve your members, but won't say a damn thing about the TWU lest they remove you from office. Again.

As for my employer, I'd love to speak out about a few things, except that they become discoverable in court. That's the difference between me and you.

When the Faux Noise Network started it really was a breath of fresh air as compared to the other left-leaning news available. Now, the content of Faux reminds me more of the National Enquirer (in quality) that my ex used to read and believe as gospel (along with Cosmopolitan). I don't bother with it anymore, either the news presentations or its programming like Beck.

Very little on Faux is conservative in content as it panders to the far right (Fascist) beliefs.

Happy Darwin Day? Gimme a break...

Where do you go for your facts? CBS, NBC, Bill Maher, Michael Moore? Oh here's a good one, how about Al Gore and his global warming hyperbole. I like to go on line and read all kinds of opinions from the WSJ to Pravda.

I don't need to stick up for Beck, at least he lists his sources, unlike your left leaning news outlets. He often uses actual video clips of the people he is exposing. There is no getting around that! Encouraging people to read for themselves is now considered dumbing down? Take your group think, left wing BS and shove it! <_<

It is a breath of fresh air to watch the news and not have some America hating left wing putz complaining about how bad the USA is! I am so tired of liberal apologists, and their endless whining about seemingly everything apple pie and USA. As long as Fox News bugs liberals, then I like em! 😛

You're entitled to your opinion but as a New Yorker, Jewish Democrat I disagree. There is a correlation between education and political affiliation, more educated people tend to hold progressive values and support the Democratic party like myself.

In the limited exposure I have had to his show, I find it arrogant, uninformative, and biased. He also a record of being bigoted, racist and anti-Semitic along with his fellow Conservative Fox News correspondents. Here's an example: http://www.nytimes.com/2010/11/12/us/12beck.html

Now back to the subject matter at hand...

Bigoted?

Your not so well hidden slant, that only so called "educated" people can have an opinion that matters, sounds bigoted. B)

Well, this has gone way off topic.... Time to move it to the Cooler perhaps?....

It's standard "Book of DNC" doctrine to to label those who don't like the actions of a Jewish or black individual as either anti-Semitic or racist. Why respond on the issues if you attach a stigma?...

Soros is decried in conservative circles not for being Jewish, but due to his actions as a currency speculator/manipulator, and his efforts with MoveOn.org & the $25M of his own money spent trying to defeat Bush in 2004.

Beck's comments taken out of context make him out to be the bad guy, but last week, Soros called Israel "a stumbling block" with regard to the US supporting Egypt's revolution, and expressed his support for the ouster of Mubarak.

Had Beck or Dick Cheney said that, they would have been labeled as anti-Israel & anti-Semitic. But because someone of Jewish faith said it, they get a pass, right?

And if the Muslim Brotherhood turns Cairo into another Tehran, you're going to see lots of "hope and change" taking place. Just remember that it was George Soros who supported it, not Beck or Fox News.

And I'm sure Soros' comments have no impact on how much money he's been able to make off speculating on oil, currency, etc. for the past two weeks... In so many ways, he is far more dangerous than the Haliburton's of the world.
