I do not agree with the convention being held in Las Vegas. There are too many distractions for such an important conference to the members.
Distractions are going to exist just about anywhere, but Vegas is really undersold right now -- hotels are pretty much giving away meeting space and/or comping a lot of room-nights just to get some occupancy.
If you can save some money, why not do so? Beats the hell out of having it somewhere like Des Moines which will be difficult to get to, or a high-cost area like NYC where you're going to have a different set of distractions....
That makes no sense to me, I am sure if you thought a little harder you could come up with a better place than Las Vegas or New York. Why not hold the convention in Tulsa OK? there are better bargains than Las Vegas, little to no distractions, and we could get the brady theatre cheap.
