Union Reps And Professionalism

i may be wrong so correct me if i am wrong but, i was told that about three months before the last election maa afa, bobbi has the flight attendants sign papers to get their union dues taken out of their paychecks and it was not done until after the election. this not being done....a lot of flight attendants recieved bills from the afa for back union dues that they owed. then, come election time WERE NOT ABLE TO VOTE! they were told that they were not in good standing. i ask you all, how was this a fair election?

It wasnt..but herself and Teddy seem to think it was. I wonder what the numbers were for the vote(how many voted and how many she won by?) Can that be found out?

NoLuv.....Yes, you are wrong.
Dues check off forms are presented to the new F/A's at base orientation. It's not something that was given to the flight attendants "all of the sudden" as you proclaim.

There were many problems with the flight attendants mainline file (for AFA) transferring with them to MAA. Any balances owed for dues, (some owing their initiation fee) were supposed to carry over. Since MAA broke off into its own council, and had a new local number, It was necessary for ALL Flight Attendants to fill out new Dues check off forms and ALL Flight Attendants to fill out new membership application. This request came from AFA International...not Bobbi.
International Struggled with getting the records updated before the election. Letters went out to the flight attendants with past dues, allowing them to make arrangements with International to bring their account current.

What is your problem with Bobbi not going to recurrent? This apparently bothers you.....alot.

Contractually, Bobbi is on a Union Leave. She does not have to go to recurrent, because she does not fly. She devotes 100% of her time to maintaining the council.

Check into it, and see just how many MEC Presidents/LEC Presidents are not current. You'll be surprised.

Yes, you can find out the numbers. Call the Membership division at AFA International.

Bobbi Riggle, the MAA AFA "rep" is sending out emails of her going tit-for-tat with F/As... them reminding her of her incompetence and her saying stuff like "YOU have only been here so long, you don't know anything!", and then back and forth one-liners. These are sent out as E-Lines! Um, is this type of thing professional? :huh:

She's also casually mentioned F/As that she "doesn't like" to other F/As! So what if she has to represent the F/A she doesn't like? In her position is she even supposed to talk about people to begin with?

Is is common? Im not sure, however, if you read the first paragraph of the sender, you'll see that he asks for Bobbi to respond to "all" the flight attendants included in this email. So, if it is going to go out to the flight attendants of his choice, why shouldn't it go out to all the members?

If someone were bashing you, and accusing you of things that you KNOW are not true, would you defend yourself?

We have the same thing going on in Council 70 with the LECP and the Reserve Chair. UNPROFESSIONAL. The Resrve Chair Pmed a Flight Attendant and called him a Tired Old Bitter Queen. While may I add was getting paid by Council 70 to work at the AFA office. The funny thing is that this Chair is older than the person he called bitter. However, when MM was in office he gave his union pin back and said he didn't support AFA. Then you have the LECP lying about Members, but when they Flight Attendants question her about it she tells them it is none of their business and hangs up on them. Way to go Council 70 for getting this Unprofessionalism in office and stuck with them for 3 years.
