Its a switch to United Health Care. Picking more than one health provider company went out with pensions.

No, we are not "chaning" handcuffed, maybe

No it not for passenger service, serving passenger will still be done by the flight attendants. United Health Care will serve the employees, sort of...you may have to send in requests for payment several times.

Buehler? don't know a Buelher, I think he's been furloughed.

Its on the Hub. Can you pull up the hub? It is right there in black and white on the left side of the front page.

My Doc said UHC is a pain in the buttocks. He said they were always trying to tell him how to treat a patient then they don't want to pay.

It must depend on what constraints the company contracting UHC place on what and how they pay.

I have UHC here at SWA and they are nothing short of amazing. I have NEVER had a problem with them paying any of my medical bills.

As a matter of fact my doctors say that the coverage I have and things that UHC pays for regarding my care is far and above what most others will cover. This goes for medications too.. We use Walgreen's Health Initiatives for medications. WHI has paid for meds that my doctors have said aren't usually covered by most insurance plans.

And for the record, I have some medical issues going on. Not just your colds and runny noses..

I do recall that SWA is self-insured and UHC is just the administrator of the program. So maybe that is the difference. Maybe you can see if its the same way with your companies plan.

UHC doesnt provide you with access to all drugs, they prohibit drugs to you over costs they pay. They dont give a shi@ if the drugs you need to take work better than the ones forced on you. If you have intollerence to generic drugs you have a big problem. Overall rating UHC suxs they care more about profits than your health

I have had no problems with UHC. They have always approved everything and paid everything on time. Our drug part is under a company called CAREMARK. Now thats another story there is some problems with that company.

USAirways was selfinsured at one time, and used the companies as administrators. I don't know if that is still the case or not.

I logged on the hub- Its appears the ins will be changing over to United Health Care- if that;s the case I think that bites!

When US had it a few years ago, they only offered and 80/20 coverage.

At least with BC/BS you have the option of paying a higher premium and getting 100% paid coverage,

This really stinks and bites if they ARE GOING TO BE THE SOLE INSURER..wonder who profitted from this?

On the fone the last 1/2 hr w/ benefits, if they ever answer!

it will be the only option unless you live in MSP.
There will be the same options available as were
offered under BCBS according to info provided over
the last couple weeks via USdaily and other company
sources of info

East is switching over to the UHC but will still offer the 80/90/100 option. Unlike West which has high/low.

US definitely self-insures - these companies merely handle the paperwork for a fee and I suspect that UHC submitted a lower bid than BCBS-NC. So far, it looks like the coverage options for 2007 will be the same as for 2006 for most employees.

You can get the %100 with UHC. You also can have %80 if you want. Open enroll ment for East is Oct 16th.

Yes, thanks.
Going to stay with our 100%...

Me thinks monthly premium will be alot less then BC/BS..

thanks!
