Much nicer, the leather in coach was a nice touch, as i'm sure the "32 inch tv's are as well, congrats!

It says that Envoy will receive the "portable" IFE's. So we'll be handing them out to sit on tray tables? I do think that will be MUCH better than then dreaded video. :lol: Watching some work it with fear is like watching someone perform a science experiment. I once stood behind a woman doing it and tapped her shoulder and said, "ZAP". She nearly flew into the cockpit. :lol:
 
Does this mean that you will be leaving the US board in favor of the LUFTHANSA one?? :lol:
 
I was NEVER so sad as my LAST Envoy trip to AMS. The A/C was partially redone and I'm sorry to report that I may never see the interior of a US 767 again.

Yes the refurb helps at least what was done but the simple fact is like everything else US does it was done on the cheap. Next European trip is already booked on LUFTHANSA. The value proposition just isn't there for me. I wish it were.

Last time I looked for an upgradable fare it was so high as to be near LH PAID Business class. So why fly US? W.I.I.F.M????

C lass C arrier. They can say what they want about Stephen Wolfe, but that was the ONE and only time US ever had any class.

You are sooooooo right!! I was stunned to walk on the airplane last month and be confronted with those hideous bulkheads and sidewalls. Say what you will about old Steve Wolf, he knew enough to actually hire marketing people and designers for the change from USAir to US Airways. The US east bulkhead designs were created to visually make the aircraft interior seem wider (muted gray tones with horizontal stripes). The sidewalls were done the same way, but using slight vertical gray stripes vertically to give the illusion of height. Both were done in a way that they simply blended in. Enter Tempe: BIG BLUE SWOOOPY THING ON EVERY CABIN BULKHEAD!!! Replace modern, contemporary sidewalls with the 1970s PSA and Piedmont 727 designs: brown, yellow, and cream starbursts that give the illusion that a bird has just pooped on them or that you're doing hallucinogenics. In the meantime, don't do anything about what customers really cared about on the aircraft (IFE, seat comfort and design, etc.).

If the 767 refurb is what we can expect for the rest of the fleet, God help us!

i know, lol. i spoke with someone about the Envoy videos. i asked about passengers stealing them. i was told that when the plane lands, the video company will be there and they are the only people with the charger for these speecific players. so if anyone does try to take them, they will have all of 24 hours before the battery goes dead. :shock:
 
Rode on one with the leather coach seats.....Uhmmm...who did they contract out to do the seat coverings. For a new cabin, the workmanship looked a little worn. Seat covers not really fitting, loose threads everywhere, just cheap looking...

This seems misleading. In that one paragraph, they refer to 3 classes of service: Coach, Envoy and First. So which is it?? 2 classes or 3?

Secondly, am I to read correctly that the new lie-flat Envoy seats will *NOT* have built in IFE? If so, that's another cheap move. The portable players are cumbersome and don't really offer all the flexibility of a true IFE like the AVOD system on the A330. I hope they put more on board than there are passengers for when there are inevitably broken units.
 
Remember, we are talking a bout a Company that would Spend a Million to Save a Dime. EVERYTHING this company does is CHEAP!!! From Facilites all the way down to the pretzels. NOTHING has Changed from OLD USAir to the New USAirways, NOTHING!!!
 
HP has always been known to be a cheap, "junior achievement" type carrier. The joke of the industry. Just carrying over the lack of class to the "New" USAirways. It's all about the big money going to the SandCastle. As much as the Wolfe/Gangwall regime was disliked, they did know how to put together a class act for the customers. Now it's just the "Greyhound Lines" of the sky.

Maybe so, but that "Greyhound" is about to announce a significant profit for 2006. Something the old USAirways hasn't done for quite some time.

See the pattern developing here. You work for a responsive company that sticks to it's promises and it gets you all flummoxed, so you revert to what you know best - COMPLAIN!.

Maybe you don't get your responses at 1000 GHz, but you do get them and sometimes they're what you want to hear and sometimes they're not.
