US Airways: Across the Rio Grande (MEXICO)

What's the spin for our Mtc. folks with this announcement?

Is anyone really surprised ?

Maintenance goes to the lowest Bidder.

Why pay anyone a livable wage in this country, if you can outsource these jobs to a third world country and pay slave labor rates ?

Please don't blame the Mexican people for this situation, The blame goes to OUR government,[Part 145, NAFTA, CAFTA]... which has been selling out men and women of this country for years.

Never ceases to amaze me that the government turns a blind eye to offshore maintenance.

Where are the TSA Facists? Or are they only adept at defending the airways from a mother and her child's sippy cup?

Yes,a toddler and their cup of juice is more dangerous than a US flag airliner being serviced overseas without government oversight...

And they wonder why the middle class is dying, as they ship our jobs to Mexico, Singapore and Delhi.

The 757, 767, A330 landing gear has always been outsourced, we only overhauled the 737, DC9 and MD80 gear inhouse.

They were suppose to put new tanks in the INT Landing Gear shop to bring the A320 inhouse but in Bankruptcy #2 they shut down the gear shop.

Messier-Services closed there Sterling Virgina Gear Overhaul shop, and built the new facilty in Queretaro Mexico. The former America West B737, B757 and A319/A320 gears were overhauled by AAR Services in Miami, the new combined gear overhaul contract for US Airways is with Messier Services in Queretaro.

DC

BF Goodrich use to overhaul the 757 and 767 gear, I do believe Goodrich bought Messier.
