My guess is LCC is going to have to cough up some money for slots. Much like DAL and CAL are going to do. Aren't there some Star Alliance members willing to sell some slots?

i think that may be a good idea try to hold off BA until they can allow us carriers more freely access to the LHR slots. But i have to question whether it is a good decision that BA would actually try to defer the LGW-ATL, DFW, IAH flts to LHR

LHR is more business traveler oriented. Why would US want to fly into there? The Clampetts in Heathrow, Ellie May and Jethro. It would make for a good Comedy Movie though!

I think BA has to switch its flights to USA-LHR. When LHR becomes open to all USA carriers and CO and DL get slots, BA would be at a disadvantage offering flights from IAH to LGW and ATL to LGW while CO and DL could and would offer flights to LHR. I think DFW-LHR makes sense given that AA and BA are in * alliance.
