Unfortunately I didn't read where they are threatening to strike. Would have loved to see something a little stronger like that out of the IAM. I read where the reporter wrote that if they were released they could strike, in any event I say YES if they did strike we should support them and honor their picket lines. The RLA gives us that right. That means not only not working USAIR aircraft but not working AA aircraft either. Let them all sit. Lets face it, we have a morally illegitimate contract anyway, put in place by people who are no longer here, from the YES voters who took the early out or were laid off to the AA management puppets that were running the TWU who helped sucker those people into voting YES, with the help of an even more corrupt government that would allow a company with $5 billion to feign Bankruptcy, keep their orders for 500 new airplanes and screw over their employees, then on top of that let them merge and form the largest carrier in the world. This is a mega corporation thats going to screw over the flying public next.
The majority of us voted against this contract but the only halfway decent thing in it is the mid term wage adjustment, and the current low USAIR rates bring down the average, the bigger raise they get the bigger raise we get, so honoring their picket line puts more money in our pockets as well. Tell that to the guys who don't want to give up OT for a day, standing up for USAIR and helping them get a good deal will put more money in their pockets because right now the low USAIR rates will drag down the Mid Term wage adjustment, so they are fighting for themselves.
