US becoming a "will carry" carrier for Hazmat?

I'd rather move human sewage without gloves than eat the Southwest chicken salad again. I got some BAAAD food poisoning from that!

Heck, the fuzzy air outlets are hazmat. The growth caused diarrhea in my co-worker after he tried some (Hey, the pay sucks, you would think fresh anything would be okay).
What about a/c 205, or was it 203? that has the constant and persistent back alley skid row smell? Are any crew going to walk off the a/c to get it fixed? I am certain the source of the smell is not corroding the "poop" deck, control cables or any other critical systems........ <_<

To carry hazmat the airline would require trained & certified cargo handlers across the system.
With all the outsourcing your company uses I just don't see this as a viable option.
HR1 will require 100% screening of all cargo on pax planes. Your clerks don't even know what they are looking at when they rip open a box and yet you actually believe that carrying hazmat may be a revenue option?
US never has regarded cargo as a revenue center. Dangerous goods carriage is not in your future.

I would happily take hazmat if I were confident the structure were set up to take it in a rational manner.
I am reminded of a 767 to Europe last year, where the cockpit was never given paperwork for a container full of ?something? With no idea (or paperwork) what was in the 2500 lb. container we off-loaded (per me) and left late. What is wrong with this company that they even think someone would take possibly illegal cargo is beyond me. Is this disease coming from PHX?

But the downside could be the fines U pays for incorrect ppwk or loading....
At East we shipped plenty of hazmat for years, in regards to aircraft parts there are checks and balances to prevent that from happening, the hazmat paperwork is all automated and air freight double checks the paperwork the paperwork that the stock clerk fills out.
All A/C batteries, oxygen tanks, radioactive material containing parts and anything with the fuel system is shipped via fedex now, costing probably a few million a year.
Do you realize how many parts are sent via fedex now?
And when there is an AOG situation involving a hazmart part, an air taxi has to be called as it cant be shipped on US' planes anymore, and air taxis are not cheap.

700...with all due respect, I worked airfreight for 24 years, sh!t happens. I was IATA certified, but mistakes do occur. 99% of the time there is no problem, but you never know....All I am saying is if you screw up the feds can nail your a$$ to the wall....
