Went there a couple of years ago for Carnival. Started out in EZE on a 10 cruise and the boat ended in GIG and we used it as the hotel for 3 nights as Carnival went on.

Copacabana and Impana (sp) were stunning. The surf is so strong out there that no one actually gets in the water. They congregate in groups. So you get to the beach, find a gazillion people hanging out and locate a group you want to hang out with and look beautiful people. (just don't think of dp in the thong as someelse mentioned.) But imagine him with a bud light group.

Sugar Loaf Mountain has the "Christ" statue. When you get to the top of the base of the statue you have an incredible view of the city, ocean. I sat there and took in the views of the cruise ships coming in as well as watched the planes take off from the SDU.

Too many caparini's while you were there i am sure. A correction the statue of Christ the Redeemer is on Corcavado. Then "Sugar loaf" Pao de Acucar and Cara de Cao have the cable car running in between the peaks.

Both AA and DL today informed the DOT that they will not object to the DOT's decision, though DL did request to be designated as the backup recipient should CO/US change their minds.

The awards should be made final soon, and hopefully loaded into the res systems in the near future.

DL should also ask to be the backup when US decides not to go to China. That announcement should be forthcoming.

And if the service is projected to lose major $$, they should cancel it. Different environment than when they applied for PEK, no?

Scoot on over to co.com; you can still purchase a ticket to China this summer for $900 all in... Fares as low as $700 for next month....

Would DL want more China frequencies? Maybe just to keep competition out, like they've done with Brazil?
