Well they are at it again. Start a great new service & connect to the same bank.

It does not work. Lots of bags are missing as they are not received in time. Some one told me that yesterday morn(Wed) they missed approx. 30 Mco bags alone not counting all the others.

Hey Harry....that goes on daily...but as usual, all the great employees that work in the bagroom on daylight are aware everyday how many bags are coming in from GIG cnx to every flight........

The best attempt is made to make every bag, but as usual, the communication to the gate lead, manager, tower is severely crippled for some reason....bet we can't figure out who that is....(MNGNT.)

now can we...

No doubt in my mind & it's the same with the night folks & all the int'l connx. to same bank. They make far more bags than you would think possible. But also lots of bags still miss that never should & thus un happy customers.

Has anyone noticed about what % (or about how many passengers) of a typical CLT-GIG flight boarded at PHL?

i cannot say anything regarding connecting passengers beginning their GIG journey in PHL...but, there is definitely a pregnant pause, when flight 800 is announced over the PHL pa system within the terminal. flight 800...that flight number tugs at a lot of nerves, regardless of which airline is in front of of the flight number 800.
what a disgrace that we don't honor the memories associated with that flight number and retire it within our system. disgusting.

Wow, talk about a non-issue. CO, DL, NW, B6, WN, FL, XJ, WS, and others, all have a Flight 800 as well. Many airlines also operate a Flight 77, 175, 93, and 11.

you tempe loyalists are all the same 🙄

no where in my post did i indicate this flight labeling disrespect to be indegenious to us.

while it may be inconvenient for you to have respect for the lives behind ill fated flight numbers, many do.

You us airways/tempe haters are all the same...

You are taking this way too far!!! So basically you saying every single airline that operates shouldnt have a flight number if that specific number was involved with an ill fated flight at some other airline?? Thats just nuts..

I grew up near a number of people that died on TWA 800 and never once did it cross my mind until you mentioned it. That's one of the more absurd comments I've read here, and that's really saying something.

The usual antagonists dragging a post critical of management off topic to get it shut down.

International connecting bags in CLT have been a mess for years.

What is causing the supposed high number of misconnected bags on the GIG flights - is it a staffing issue? A lack of automation in the process? Something else?

The reason I ask is that several other airlines have international to domestic itineraries with connecting times in the 90-100min range as well, and at larger airports (ATL, DFW, IAH, etc) too, so it ought to be able to be accomplished IF all the right tools are in place.

I suspect many of those misconnected bags have times of 45 mins or less. get in the last bank try to get it out same bank
