US801 Gig-Clt US up to old tricks

As a bag runner in CLT, if the bags are more than 30 minutes from departure we take to bagroom, if less we take to plane, most flights come in with some GIG bags on them and we route them accordingly, the bagroom does a great job here in CLT....

I think we are talking about 2 different things here. You are talking about the inbd. bags going TO Rio. I'm talking about missing all of those OUTBOUND bags when the flight comes from Rio & US attempts to connect to the same bank. Like some one else said I bet some of those flights have barely 45 min. if that & it just does not work. Customs & TSA has to handle the bags before the bag room ever gets them.

The bags need to connect to the next bank if US wants to cut the missed bags & make happy customers.

If the flight is coming from RIO, who made the 45 minute connection? When a passenger gets off that flight, the passenger must claim his/her luggage prior to going thru customs. Then they recheck it. It can take 45 minutes, just to get your bags and if your lucky be at customs. So how can bags get missed?

Once you re check & let the bag go the next step is to the TSA to their thing(behind the scene) then once TSA is done the bag is put on another belt that goes to the bag room where they are sorted & taken to the plane. If the bag room doesn't get the bag in time to take out to the connecting flight it will miss that flight & most likely go on the next one.

On another note I was told by a day shift bag room agent that almost every day a cart of Orlando bags do not make the flight.
