A typical response from one of the US Airways "pussy pilot" crowd.

AWA, watch out for pussy pilots they are total invertebrates.

I can tell of of AWA that it WILL be ok. DO NOT listen to the AA naysayers/ US WILL honor ANY abritation ruling. We have done it in the past and WULL do it in the present

Yes.. You are 100% correct.. AWA people have no fear. We at US will honor any arbitration ruling so long as its in our favor.. Take that as gospel from our pilot group.

If the Arbiter rules that the US pilots and the rest of us go to the bottom expect lawsuit after lawsuit, work slow downs and our right whinning..

AWA people beware.. Your interest is not the interest of the US people. stepping on you and taking over is all that concerns the vast majority of US pilots.

Doug Parker is selling you down the river.. Your leadership is making a huge mistake swallowing this bitter pill!!

America West Pilots BEWARE of taking advice from anonymous morons on an internet message board!!!

just,

You were never a pilot, worry the IAM and your issues. Pilots do not have a choice to honor an arbitrators award, fool.

You do not work here anymore, go spoil the air and water elsewhere you sad man....

And stop telling lies in an attempt to stir the pot.

UYH,

Guess you are not using yours, if it goes to arbitration and you lose ALPA and its members are bound by the aribtor's decision, just look at AA for a prime example

700,

I agree with you that a negotiated list would be best, I hope that will occur; however, if that does not happen binding arbitration will take it's place. Been there, done that, and I am fully prepared to accept that result...whatever it is. The two airlines together present a stronger entity which is benificial to all employees. This will require give and take, and at the end of the day a new list will be decided through the ALPA merger policy.

I find it sad that that some here are attempting to say that US Airways pilots would not honor an that result if distasteful to them. The bottomline is no one has a choice, thats why they call it "binding arbitration."

BTW,

I thought the AA/TWA was not a arbitrators award? I thought the TWA folks signed away the rights to the process through the BK process, along with the fact the AA is not ALPA and does not use the ALPA merger policy.

AA/TWA folks help us out here (I am talking about the pilot seniority list), was it arbitration that resulted in a pilot list?

You're correct. There was no arbitration with the TWA integration. In fact, ALPA basically did nothing for the loyal pilots of TWA who had paid them dues for so many years/decades.

Because the groups were represented by different unions, there was no obligation to arbitrate. Basically, the American (APA) was in control, period.

I think ALPA national decided to make sacrifical lambs out of the TWA group in the misguided effort to persuade APA back into the ALPA fold (more dues money, you know, from the very large American Airlines crowd.)

One thing that is often overlooked is the fact that in the next 5 to 7 years, over 2/3 of USAir's pilots retire. That's a HUGE movement for those left. Personally, I'm 51 and on a medical leave, in the top 900 at U and don't care if I ever go back. Even if I get my medical back, I'll most likely pass. It's just not the same job anymore.....

The F/As union, APFA, refused to even meet with the TWA F/A union. They were stapled and now all furloughed. No arbitration.
The APA slotted in the top quarter of the TWA pilots. The rest were stapled to the bottom. No arbitration. The TWA pilots are suing ALPA because ALPA refused to use its power to push for a better settlement. They have a fairly good case because at the time ALPA was spending money to persuade the APA to come into ALPA. Thus ALPA had a conflict of interest problem.
Mechanics arbitrated by Kasher. In STL they got 100% seniority, but AA reduced TWA's hub there to nothing so it does not count much. At the overhaul base, MCI, they got 100% seniority but AA has reduced that facility from about 2000 to 500 as I hear it. There were a about 22000 TWA employess at the time of the merger in April 2001. Alll F/As are furloughed. About 500 pilots remain in small hub in STL. Mechanic, I don't know how many are left employed by AA. I's guess 1500 to 2000. So out of 22000 in April 2001, maybe 2000 to 3000 left? Just a guess.

Thank you for the info.
