Some movement has to start to create a new union.

We'll need to study other groups that have decertified their previous unions. But most importantly, we'll also need to garner as much support of our fellow employees (regardless of being "east" or "west", because BOTH groups are being affected).

We all agree that something needs to be done. But we need a PLAN OF ACTION. NOW! We can't wait, nor can we afford being thrown under the bus again, or being penalized for something outside of our control, or give up anything further than we have given up! We've had enough! But we need a plan of action.

So, where do we start?

On an off-note, I did hear that the CWA did file a "grievance", but that's it. Nothing else is being done, and probably nothing else WILL be done, given the CWA's wonderful performance as of late.

We know what needs to be done. Let's start throwing some ideas.

If you don't like your representation find a way to replace them.

Chest thumping about decertfication is a corporate position.

Well Shannon,

Apparently the "Crushed Velvet" will be used in the new Wendy's Uniform.
LOL, Pretty!!! Can I model it??

Fact is, I take a bath in awesome before I go to the number two window, and it's the expensive imported kind. It makes them immune to my immature charm. I think you can get a discount on it in the duty free store......

And, since this thread was all about union stuff, I don't really get all wound up about that. I see everyone getting all amped up and mad all the time, but nothing ever happens, just a lot of frowny faces. Getting all bent out of shape at this company is like sitting in a rocking chair. The effort is being made, energy is being spent, but in the end you're in the same frustrating spot.

Don't be crushed velvet! Vintage always comes back!!

You guys have struck a nerve!!

I'd be very very careful what I post as someone is very upset and is actively trying to identify posters.

I can't and won't betray confidences and I hate to be so freaking cryptic.

Let's just put it like this. The dress you're sewing is made of "Crushed Velvet"
and when the posters are identified...? Then what?

What, is the fact that many of us are onto Miss Velveteens ways making her upset??? Boo Hoo....

I am so sorry you now have to adhere to an attendance policy. We have had to for ever. Grow up, instead of blaming Velvet, look at the reason why it was introduced. Try the word "Co-Workers".

Your naivete and unrealistic view of one person's ability is a clear indicator of your total lack of understanding.

Please refer any questions or comments regarding the potential identification of posters to moderators and the admins. Please refrain from discussing that part of the issue on these boards.

Thank you.

this is not about adhering to an attendance policy....this is about choices and decisions being made without any regard to the paying union members....by someone whom has no reason to be making these choices/decisions. This is about some union officials whom have lost touch of reality....whom are not here for the members but rather their own personal gain. I have a right to express my opinion as others have on this board....as far as my lack of understanding...get real....the CWA is not all about REZ which is Miss V's dream. How much more "real" do I have to be---real is the crap we deal with on the front line. "Real" are these decisions that keep getting made with out the memberships knowledge....keep drinking the velvetaide....

think we might be done sewing...V might wanna buy a sewing machine.....

Last time I looked at my contract there was nowhere there that said anything about the CWA having any ability to negoitate attendance. The company can implement any policy they want regarding attendance and CWA has NO input. Have you ever thought that Velvet had no part in this decision? No it is much easier to shoot the messenger than hear the message.

I am not drinking anyone's Koolaide, I just know my contract.

Wow, this really created a rift within the union...and it could all have been prevented.

Just out of curiosity, and just for our information. Why is it that only fleet service and customer service the only groups under this new attendance system? Why wouldn't it apply to Res, or training, or any other area within the company?

The point is, what is the intent of the attendance policy. It is to stack the deck against the employee and set them up for termination. With a "legacy" work force, thats part of the unspoken plan. If the company has the right to implement a policy, as mentioned before, then the union should be focusing on how one group is being unjustly targeted over another as well as fighting to make the policy more tolerable

you are correct...but the point is she had this since July....she sat on it because the company asked her too....this is just one of many things....its noble of you to stand up for Velvet...maybe you are Velvet?...Velvets BFF?? The bottom line is it comes down to perception, perception, perception. (Actions too of course.)

Perception is that she is out for her own personal gain....and her actions seem to prove it.

The union had nothing to do with the new point system .... and can do nothing about it. The company has a right to one. Furthermore it looks pretty reasonable. If it's an issue for you, obviously your problem qualifies for FMLA... use it.

You need to focus your anger on important things, like there being no retirement here.
