Was this airline worth saving?

Worth saving, YES (the liviehood and careers of many people were salvaged) How they have done it and in such a careless, reckless manner is a whole different matter. The blatant disregard for employees and the travelling public speak VOLUMES about this Management Team and baseline ethics. (I am trully convinced they would sell their own Mother down river for a dollar, and watch her get assulted, robbed or murdered for Five. Despicable. Period.)

I just wondered what you all thought. After everything you have gone through was this airline worth saving?

I struggle with this question...perhaps if my neighbor had not moved away and was still around to talk to, I would have an answer for you.

Try AVG anti virus freeware at cnet.com.

Free and will detect Trojans.

Try Firefox browser.

Good advice BCWYWF!!

Be sure when you get AVG that you get both their anti-virus and their anti-spyware programs. Both are excellent and I've used and recommended them for years. You can download them both direct from their manufacturer at free.grisoft.com

I'll also second Firefox. I don't get any pop-ups on the US site with FF.

The US Airways culture was certianly not worth saving and that is where most of the current problems lie. They should have changed the damn name so you guys could have finaly let go. They should have made it clear the OLD US ceases to exist. They should have fired everyone Director and above from the old gaurd. Managers and Sups should have had special empowerment training and then re-apply for their jobs. They should have told the FAA the certificate will reside in PHX and they should have closed all non-airport operations in PIT. In fact moving the SOC/OCC to PIT is a huge mistake too. The routes are certianly worth savings as well as airport assets. And in most cases the rank and file employees. They missed a grand opportunity to re-juvinate the old rank & file and unleash their potential.

I feel like the airline was worth saving and the merger a good idea until I realized what a pack of nitwits we have running the show.

Don't get me wrong... US has had their fair of jerks, too.

So, where is the FAA certificate? I assumed it's in PHX. I guess I wasn't paying attention that day. And what do you have against the SOC/OCC being in PIT? Why is that a mistake?

Are you saying the overwhelmingly West management screwed up?

UPNAWAY
This is only my opinion.....The only reason that the USAirways name was kept was that changing the name would only reinforce the fact that there was a COC. I for one would have had no problem with the name going away for good.

Cowtowing.

I can see the rubes in the Sandbox being conned into cowtipping.

But cowtowing is a new one on me. What the Hell are you talking about?
