Ways to generate revenue...

This comes up on a lot of the threads, so I am curious, what makes sense to you all for the company to do to generate the revenue to offset the fuel prices? A quarter to recline the seat? A dollar for a coke? What do you think the carrier should do to offset fuel and hopefully survive as a standalone?
What could we do that would make sense and not embarrass us at the same time?

These merger scenarios are starting to be nauseating and stressful , so this could be a fun thread or maybe the next cost cutting idea will be born!! What are your ideas - - (no getting rid of westies/easties isn't allowed - - keep it fun!)

Here's a few how about selling disposable cell fons for international passengers.( I know Mexico isnt the Real international but its MY example.) Many people trvl in groups and the only way to communicate is usually thru your hotel desk. Its frustrating in Mexico to have half your family late and you've had 4 cocktails and they still arent back from hanggliding or whatever they were doing. Cant tell you how frustrating those stupid cards that have minutes on them can be.You have to dail 200 numbers and then it doesnt work.! 2. How about allowing a psgr to use miles to have his name on the door, kinda like the March of Dimes, and for so many miles they get their picture taken with the flight crew! We could have an inflight contest to see who can get the biggest percentage of the interior covered with names! Could even give prizes for the most miles given in a month! Mama

That's cool!! I like the names on the door!! Ha ha they can use the revenue to pay down the leases!! LOL.. Fun!!

OHH!! How about a SWEAR JAR at the gate. I can just see it now. Misconnect runs up, throws his bag down, starts dropping F bombs. Point sweetly to the swear jar. That's a dollar for the first one, and five after that!!

Those planes would be paid off in about a month at a dollar a cuss word.
Or, if they buy a prepaid CussCard they get 10 for the price of 8 with a percentage of the proceeds going to the employee anxiety pill prescription fund ..

I don't need to give miles to get pictures with flight crews. Crews love taking photos with me. Lately I've been getting pictures with almost all the crews I've flown with. =]

How about charging for "special" meals on trans-Atlantic flights? Most people don't want them and claim they don't know they ordered them. They must have felt "special" when they filled out their frequent flyer profile that used to have an option for special preference for in-flight meals. I'm not talking about a $40.00 charge just $5.00 or $10.00 to show that they are serious about wanting something. It's amazing how many vegetarians decide they can eat chicken at 35,000 feet.

Easy, treat the customer with respect and offer a fair product. Make First Class a First Class product, not a First Class Joke.

Make the highest paid management (CEO) compensation no higher than 2 times as high as the average front line employee pay!!!!

I don't need to give miles to get pictures with flight crews. Crews love taking photos with me. Lately I've been getting pictures with almost all the crews I've flown with.

Anyway, I say gouge the people in Albany, Buffalo, Syracuse, Rochester, CLT, BOS, LGA, and DCA, and on every route US does not compete with WN at PHL . Get rid of ticket covers. Charge for Nonrevs. Get rid of all food and drinks on aircraft that is not on a 757, 767, 330, 321. No free luggage tags. Charge for $25 for first bag and $150 for 2nd+ bag. Get rid of inflight magazines. Put in more advertisements. If passengers think they may need to use the bathroom, they should have to pay a fee before getting on the plane.

I know... crazy. But US is not going to make up for 300 million out if it's ass.
