With 1.8 billion less in expences, What will the new CASM be, if the cuts go in to effect?

30% higher than Southwest''s on a stage length adjusted basis. The actual number moves around depending upon which stage length you use.

The actual number also moves around based on the number of seats the company puts in the airplane. Galleys, closets, MRTC all increase CASM.

Indeed. The internal CASM that the company uses adjusts for the difference in cabin configurations as well. Technically it''s called "CESM" - Cost per Equivalent Seat Mile.

USAir announced they have lowered theirs from 12.5 cents to 10.5 cents, and they hope to get it down close to 10 cents. I believe WN''s is somewhere around 7.5 cents?
