Where should US Airways add for new long distance flight from DCA

Where are these slots coming from? I also don't recall ever hearing about an application process.

What about good old SNA? PHL-SNA used to be jammed full on the once a day non stop. Problem was not enough frequency of flights our of SNA. Would the return of PHL-SNA and DCA-SNA make the numbers work for US?

I thought one of the core issues with PHL-SNA or PIT-SNA was the runway length and noise restrictions at SNA and not being able to carry full loads.

I would be very surprised if it wasn't SAN. US would have to have something really tricky up their sleeve (or just be plain stupid, who knows) to not to go after the largest unserved market from DCA.

HNL 😛

SAN would seem obvious, but maybe another PHX flight.

Anyone else think it might be SJU.

That's a good point. Any domestic station or immigration pre-clear station (which outside the perimeter I think is only AUA) in the islands is also a possibility.

The out of perimeter slot must come out of hub flying . Whether it be PHX/CLT/PHL it doesn't matter. Chances are we would drop an express PHL trip to fly the out of perimeter flight. With only 3 trips to PHX we won't drop anything there and it is doubtful we would drop any CLT flying.

Why not Bakersfield or Modesto? Maybe Stockton or Fresno?

US Airways is set to get 1 new long distance flt from DCA so where should it use that route? United and Virgin are going to fly to SFO. American to LAX and SW to MCI for 1. Alaska, JB, Spirt, Republic and others have not recieved a new slot yet or announced where they would fly if they recieve a slot..

I Say... LAX.... I think that Alaska already flies to SEA from DCA.... not sure???
