What's new

who's your daddy

Right rookie mistake ha, we are very well aware the company is montioring this site and the company e-mail niether of which would be used for disscussions about our plans unless we wanted them to know, tell me how many people do you know that had information about the plans of AMP or when we would start our drive, if we had been routinely using company e-mail they would have known and informed the TWU.

From what I have seen the TWU was caught completely off guard as was the company, while you may fill your postion somehow allows you perspective on the inner workings of the commitee I assure you it does not. Tell us as the pro that you are what should be our next move and if it cost money are you going to pony up.

The TWU is in a panic. Why else would Jim Little visit Tulsa and have an all day chat fest with 300 TWU faithful? Dues money used to the benefit of the members? At about $300.00 a day at 300 people that adds up to a lot of panic for just one day of "AMP is just those evil AMFA guys." rallys.

Pit,
I'm not sure what position you think I am in? I could care less about the "inner workings" of your committee. I am nothing more, nothing less then a line mechanic. Your next move is up to you, and whoever else makes the decisions, and to be honest, I could give a rats arse. I've seen drives come and seen em go, some think this one will be different, but from what I see it's no different than any other. Same bull with people and their holier then thou attitudes. Anyone that comes and offers differing viewpoints get ridiculed by the fools that come on here and blither, blather.

I'm not sure I am appreciative of your comments. You accuse me of being a pro? A pro what? You ask me for money? Money for what? And for whom?

No sir you accused us of being rookies read your post, since you seem to know what we should be doing in regards to shirts e-mail addresses etc I asked for your professional advice on our next move in hope of not making another mistake in your eyes. its easy to second guess what others are doing from the safety of the sideline.

For someone who gives a rats arse you always seem to have something negative to say as far as you being unapprecitive of my comments ditto to ya!

Listen, we are all in this together. As an AMT from Tulsa, I have just as much respect for you as the next guy, but the TWU is doing us wrong on all levels. I am part of the AMP steering committee in Tulsa and I was not an AMFA organizer. I would like to have better representation, but I feel that the TWU has out lived it's usefulness. I feel now is the time to go on our own and and explore the possibilities of our future. There has to be something better out there, and we brought to you. Don't pass up this chance, beacause there might not be another. Sign a card, and vote with what your heart and gut tell you. That's all we are asking!

Could not be better said. I am also a lowly mechanic that has been nothing but ridiculed on this site. People are right
about the TWU doing us wrong on this contract but the attitudes of certain people really turn me off.

Personally I'm grateful to have an open forum such as this to discuss issues and keep the membership informed. Few take advantage. There are some who detest this exchange of ideas, making false and misleading accusations in an effort to derail those seeking change. I'm willing to accept the good and the bad in people, on both sides, in order to be able to hear all the views expressed.

Gentlemen

I guess the comments being made are about me and I will offer my apologies if I have offended but it does not change the fact that we have a problem named the TWU and currently thanks to a group of men we have a choice we can either stay with the TWU or go AMP.

Now not withstanding what you may feel about one side or the other we have a choice, now if you feel it is unworthy of your consideration fine then please find us a better one. I will support any real effort for change and since I too am only a lowly line mechanic I will promise not to nitpck your efforts.

One thing is certain - tomorrow will be a factor in the level of rhetoric.

When the votes are counted (and the TA rejected), the TWU will ratchet up its diatribe and fear tactics in addition to a campaign to find what will get it passed. If it does pass (God forbid), they will turn their attention to protecting their "meal ticket" - the membership that depended on them for leadership after having paid for it through dues deductions from the paychecks.

Since I've been at American, I've seen many things bargained away for supposed job security, after which bargaining there always seemed to be layoffs anyway. Also, there was the "This is for the more senior people and the less senior get hosed" type of bargaining going on. Many have taken the attitude (like the "quit smoking" ad), "This Stops With Me".

I am not willing to screw over the less senior people in order to gain a slight advantage - it stinks somewhat of the Biblical story re: Esau selling his birthright for a pot of beans. I personally will not tolerate any more of this crap. We may well be saddled with this mess as it might pass but until the votes are counted and the fat lady sings, we'll not know for certain.

As a ray of hope, I must say I have heard (in my small corner of the world) a great deal of dissention from people I never dreamed would do anything against the recommendations of the TWU - that's a good sign as my corner is in an area that has typically supported whatever the TWU wanted to do - I hope it carries throughout the entire company.

TWU and Little Jimmy - enough is too much - got that?
