welcome to the board, we were told you were coming. I have never been accused of being smart to my knowledge, and the NEW DIRECTION TEAM is more interesting without me.
As for housekeeping matters, I am the Local Chairman of 1487, Chicago. But you know that as the entire ORD 1487 Eboard approved this, as you have already been told. I'm sorry but i'm unclear on your position.
OTOH, the whole station of Chicago was disturbed when I posted Randy's love letter to Hemenway not to recognize me but instead Randy wants to recognize a 23 year guy who has never been even a shop steward OR even been to a Local meeting EVER. Randy had bad info on the guy from MW, but it's typical of Randy to go crying to management as opposed to being a man and calling me or calling the Local President.
As for me being a member, I can assure you that if I was not a member in good standing that I would not be able to vote on things. Again, I'm not following your reasoning.

You gotta be kiddn me? Dennis the Menace couldn't screw up a merger any worse than Boss Canale has with the US AIRWAYS/AMerica West merger. Immediately he shelves section 6 negotiations, then puts out a goofy contract that was shot down by 87% of US EAST members. If there is one thing that EVERYONE knows is that Randy is the WRONG person with mergers.
The network of solidarity has taken over negotiations and will do better than what Randy apparently said was the 'best he could do' back in September.
Randy is at the table but has no 'juice' and is now just the messenger, the membership has no confidence in him and he will experience 'great pain' when his own local doesn't nominate him.

Certainly myself and you support different slates and debate can be useful between us. However, there are some things, separate from debate, that speak volumes to members.
Most importantly, a man's/woman's character and how good she is doing his/her job is almost always measured in the voting booth at the home local. For instance, Rich is from ORD and represents them. I honestly don't know one person on the UA ramp that doesn't support Rich and I really don't even think there is a dispute that he will get his home local. OTOH, will RE? She's from ORD, but I doubt she gets hers. Certainly Canale won't get his home local since they know him better than any of us. I have a problem with someone if they can't get their home local and I think it makes 'good sense' to all reasonable people that if someone can't gain the nomination in their own local then why would anyone listen to their Bull S### stories talking smack about their opposition?
I have no doubt that everyone on the NEW DIRECTION team will get their home nominations. OTOH, I can't see half of the members on Canale's regime getting theirs. That's a big problem when their own wash their hands of them in this District vote.

It seems that Randy and the IP are paniced because the New Direction Slate is sweeping across the nation. Be on the lookout for some type of bulletin to be put out this week saying that the company and the IAM have met to discuss a possible merger. They will proceed to tell you that UAL can't possibly survive this merger without Randy's experience at these types of things. Send me a dollar for every time you hear we can't change horses in the middle of a race. Ask USAir how he's handled their merger so far. They will tell you WE BETTER CHANGE WHORES IN THE BEGINNING BECAUSE OUR WHORE IS AN OLD NAG. Oops I meant horse. Either one is appropriate. Don't fall for this crap. Randy can't merge Legos let alone airlines. His sacred team of negotiators Himself, Eulo, Pasquirrelli and so on negotiated the last two piece of #### deals crammed down our throats. Those of us in CLT are very much aware what the low wages get you. We experenced it first hand. We use to work the express flights here. We were replaced by their own employees. There are some that are good solid workers but the majority are dangerous, uncaring and pretty much worthless. Their revolving door has put my safety and everyone else's in jeopardy. Just a couple days ago one of them T-boned a parked belt loader at full speed because they were not paying attention to what they were doing. Once again it just proves you get what you pay for.
