Why This F/a Supports The Iam

Well their track record on outsourcing is not the best, they have a cap at NWA at 38% but right now NWA is outsourcing 44% and have half the mechanics they had while under the IAM.

They said they would go by the current agreement and do the same thing as the IAM would do, fight in court and see what the judge determines.

So, am I to assume anything will be different or special? Are their leaders so much greater? What is AMFA's claim to fame? How do they handle their grievances and are they successful. You have to have money in a union to pay for good attorneys to be in the International. How big are they? Resources are driven by dues dollars? If they are small, then so is their assistance. Any greatness with this union that is any different?

sosdd, they will sit back and collect dues, for example, amfa members in EWR, JFK and LGA are part of the BOS local, so they have to travel to BOS to attend a meeting, vote on a contract etc.

AMFA members in HNL, have to go to SFO to attend a union meeting. Kinda hard to particpate when your local is several thousand miles away.

Well Lav,the mechanic seniority list has been cut 44% and they're still stuck with the IAM.So please explain what point you're trying to make in comparison to NWA.

Do you see a US plane in Singapore getting overhauled? In NWA/AMFA contract says if they have one person on layoff they cant farm work out, and they have 50% on lay off and they are farming out 44% of their work.

How long will the scope language last if Siegel offers to let the International manage the IAM groups' pensions?

There will be a show of stregth against the robber barrons this week, just sit back and watch
Yea, the iam is going to pass out BUTTONS for us to wear. Oh thats going to show the company how strong and fierce we are. What a JOKE!! Buttons, ha,ha,ha. How about going down to the minimum tool list and other legal programs that will pulverize the company.

You are trying to DECEIVE the readers of this board again. It is true that the members in EWR,JFK, and LGA for AMFA did have to travel to BOS for their union meetings because they didn't have enough members at those locations to support another local. But the AMFA reps told you right to your face, now that they have United that they will be opening a local in JFK very soon. You left that point out, once again was it a mild oversight or another attempt to DECEIVE!! My money is on DECEPTION!! If they are successful at Usairways CLT is also large enough to support its own local also. I will be watching all the MISINFORMATION you spread on this board and pointing out the TRUTH to the readers as much as I can. Although its hard to keep up with you guys who seem to be here 24/7. :p :p

Wher are you getting 44%?? They said the northwest was at about 25%. United of course is at 100% of heavy maintenance which was agreed to under an IAM negotiated contract before AMFA took over. And here at Usairways we've lost 44% of our mechanics, with little hope to get them back. At northwest they stated the majority of their layed off mechanics were put out under the same force majure clause in our contract. They have arbitratin hearings set up within 6 months to try to get their members jobs back! The TRUTH will set us free. :

The majority of their members are out under force majure clauses.Your misinformation is becoming very time consuming to correct, but I'll do my best to keep the readers of this board informed of the TRUTH!! ;)

Bob,

Your point IS the greater issue and more important. Thanks for reinforcing it once again.

Hope the IAM members don't lose their focus. There will be a time to deal with the leadership, IMO that time is not now.

Lav,

Why did the IAM(FIGHTING WHIMPS) let United Airlines contract out ALL OF THEIR HEAVY MAINTENANCE ? Time to kick out the IAM and vote in AMFA. They can't be any worse than the WORTHLESS IAM.
