For those of you who serve our customers at the airport, you know where I'm coming from...are you OVER it? Can you imagine if we had cut over to SHARES this week?

And they say we make too much money?

From looking at flifos and talking to people already at work today, I'd have to vote NO. Not sure what the reasons are (maint/crew/weather), but so far, there are already 3 or 4 late for the day and it was just barely noon. So glad I traded for an afternoon shift today! 🙄

Makes me even more thankful for a day off .

they still can't find my bag and I never went anywhere....  🙄

This week was the worst week I've ever seen in 15yrs!!

On Wednesday (the day of the ice storm), at DCA there were only six gate agents there...most staff couldn't get in or called out sick. The airport didn't open until midday and it took four days to finally get all of the customers to their destinations. Crews were scattered all over the system...masses of humanity throughout the terminals....aircrafts waiting more than an hour to reach the gates from the taxiways due to ice/snow accummulations in the ramp area. The lines at the ATO and Special Services were unending. Overall the DCA team did a tremendous job, considering the challenges that we all faced.

Glad that I was off Monday through Wednesday; finally today (Sunday) things returned to normal.

If last week would have been cutover to SHARES, I think that many employees would have gone "postal"!

Still not to normal. PHL still taking 1-2 hour ramp delays on originators the past few mornings. MX delays, CLT working mx on a 320 and a 757 tomorrow, staffing still low.....

Brace yourselves, folks.

This week and next are the big winter school vacation weeks in the northeast.

And as we all know, every passenger traveling from the northeast to Florida on US Airways is coming through PHL, DCA, or CLT.

"But it was the cheapest fare on the internet. They didn't tell me I had to go through Philadelphia!"

(Of course, the smart passengers are traveling non-stop to Florida on JetBlue, Delta, Southwest, American, AirTran, etc.)

Riiiiiiiiight.... smart....  According to the local PHL news, things are pretty bad at US too, with regards to lost luggage (never was our strong suit..).

But that's normal at PHL and US Airways.

When it happens to the "darlings" at JetBlue, it's news.

You know, like "Man Bites Dog".

I'll be spending this week in Palm Springs...80 degrees and not a snow flake in sight. Im driving..not flying.. Enjoy the winter wonderland back east!
