Hopeful said:Yea, but remember with Carty, he felt he need to buy another carrier to keep up with the proposed UAL USAir merger.
If it's true, as America West's chairman says, that airline consolidation is inevitable. I think Arpey will say he has no choice.
If this were to occur, I hope Southwest or Jetblue would buy AMR and replace current management here.

And put you all at the bottom of the seniority list. Remember what goes around comes around.

<_< Those of us, that are still here, have reason to be!!!! :down:aafsc said:We nAAtives won't be dumb enough to sign away our labor protections. If AA was to merge with jetblue or southwest and the lists were dovetailed giving jetblue or southwest people their full seniority, most of them would be below us because their seniority at their airline is junior to us. You ex-TWA people are bitter, bitter, bitter.

How will you feel when you get a full staple job? When a 22 year old now flys international and you fly 6 leg jfk/pbi turns? Don't answer now, let it sink in. Be honest.....you'd be bitter too!aafsc said:We nAAtives won't be dumb enough to sign away our labor protections. Because you could not take your seniority (which you agreed to waive) from a dead company and throw people out onto the streets who have been with AA for 15-20 years. All you had with TWA was STL and MCI. What you had after the purchase was STL and MCI. You had NO right to come into an AA base and throw long time nAAtives on the street.MCI transplant said:<_< Those of us, that are still here, have reason to be!!!!

Fly, how would you have felt if the UA/US deal went through and all those very senior US flight attendants came over and took away you best trips (Intl routes)? How would you feel if they would have been able to take your easy schedule that you like to tell us about? Or maybe they would have put you on the street. At the time of the proposed merger, UA was a financially stronger carrier and US was considerable weaker. I work the ramp for AA and the ramp and mechanics went to binding arbitration with regards to the seniority integration. If the TWU ever signed away my seniority I would either accept it or quit. Not agree to it so the transaction can proceed and then when the deal is done go back and try to get my seniority back. The TWAers just wanted a HUGE windfall at the expense of the nAAtives. And they did not get it.Fly said:How will you feel when you get a full staple job? When a 22 year old now flys international and you fly 6 leg jfk/pbi turns? Don't answer now, let it sink in.
