GAS Fracking. ....Which one is right ?

Most of the cars in Europe that are getting 50+ MPG can't be imported in the US because they don't meet our crash standards. DOT's standards add weight to vehicles, reducing their fuel economy.

It's the same thing with European train equipment --- we could have bought reliable and proven high speed rail equipment from a number of European companies when Acela was introduced, but it didn't meet Bear's favorite agency the FRA's standards. So they had to build & design something just for Amtrak, and it was plagued with reliability issues when introduced. It was also more expensive, and can't go as fast...

I suppose people like tree would prefer we take Venezuela and Mexico's approach --- have the government take ownership the oil industry. Re-elect the Socialist in Chief again, and we just might wind up with that as the solution to high gas prices...

Where do you come up with stuff?

Pretty hilarious how in one post you say ,"There are cars getting 60-70 mpg over in Europe!" then a couple of post down, someone calls you out to name such cars, then proceed to sat these vehicles get 50 mpg!" That's 10 mpg difference !

One of the 4 was 50 mpg the rest were over 60 but if you knew how to research anything you might have known that but since you haven't the slightest clue how to research anything and post idiotic drivel like the CPUSA suing the DNC it is no wonder you are stuck in a dark place without a clue. For you to call anyone out on any facts is preposterous. You are a simpleton who bases their comments on talking points that sound good to you without so much as lifting a finger to verify anything.

The A3, Golf and mini are all sold here in the US. The structural standards are all the same. They are not going to set up separate production runs and stampings just for the US. For cars that are sold here in the US

I thought you said you were done. Guess that has a different meaning for liberals?...

I was done with that particular argument with him. No head was being made so why bother. Seems republicans have little understanding of anything or the ability to think out side of the box they are in.

They won't do stampings, but don't assume that they're the same under the hood. I doubt Audi's built for Africa, India or China are held to CARB or EU emission standards.

Never argue with a tree! They know EVERYTHING! Just ask.

In the US there is this thing called Individual Liberty. It means I can buy a Ford Expedition, which on a good day gets 15mpg or an over priced falling apart bucket of bolts off the assembly line Chevy Volt.which we all paid for the development and still they can't give them away because they suck.

This is why we have a free market. Want a car that gets 70/mpg? When you get enough consumer demand the car companies will build one. Not Before, Not without massive wastes of taxpayer subsidies. The market rules the day, not the Empty Suit and his visions of grandeur
