The F/A session was nothing to write home about Hector provided some good information and cultural insight. Hector seems to be what this company needs. However, the main event was the pilot's session especially the "E-190" clip. That pilot called them to the carpet. I think Isom even squirmed a little bit

Your post doesnt tell the board anything about the session.

Here's what I heard: If the company can't make money this year, bankrupcy and liquidation are the plan B.
Cheers.

I heard that if Delta/NW makes money this year, that Continental will agree to merge with US and keep the US name.

What was said was- there is no other choice but to show profit for 2010. There is nowhere else to turn- no one to borrow from. Loosing money is not an option. Clue the band. 😛h34r:
Yeah well so be it. Tempe sets things up to fail. Period.

No other choice but to profit, nowhere else to turn to...that was actually said? Or are those your own words because I really don't see much of a chance for profit with oil prices rising and business demand still weak.

We came close to turning an operational profit in 4 qtr 09. Yields are improving and most carriers are optomistic for 2010.

How many times has the death of US been predicted in the past? Is there really any reason to believe this time will be different?

Did he really say that? If so, I bet there are alot of shareholders who would like to know. Could he be setting the stage for concessions?

That's clearly a shot across the bow of the east pilots and their LOA 93 pay grievance. In the eventuality that the pilots prevail, he can blame the east pilots for forcing the company into BK 3 by actually demanding what they have contracted for. What a concept!

Barring another fuel crisis 2010 will probably look pretty good. UA & CO will merge, American will probably make some overtures to US to buy out the DCA slots or something like that but the US shareholders will see that gutting the most valuable part of the co. isn't in their best interests and it won't happen. US will soldier on without a dance partner, it's image as the industry's "in-betweener", without a clear identity, secure.
