Why should we be outraged over the UA T/A? I know that in my station the "UA/CO" folks were told EXACTLY what would happen if they voted yes, and they overwhelmingly voted yes, with the knowledge that they were possibly voting themselves right out of a job. So why should I be outraged over the UA folks? What happened here is that we tried to let the former America west people know what would happen if they voted for this current agreement we are under, along with the class two cities I might add, and it passed. Many have had an issue with it, including myself, but it's in the past, lets just learn from our mistakes and move on. So to really answer your question, UA sold out UA, and in some cases, like my station, sold themselves right out of a job for the retro money. Why should we be outraged?

Because everyone here continues harping on freedom over something that happened nearly six years ago, get over it move on. The UA agreement has implications for US section six and JCBA talks. DP and AH would love to strip scope down to only hub stations.

Josh

josh  the simple fact is freedom was told repeatedly by me by pj 700 and bunch of others that the deal was bad  yet he admitting he chose money over scope and he laughed all the way as his coworkers got tossed outside the batters box all bec he wanted the flippin money

secondly josh  it was explained to you bout the ua ta which was explained to them and the consequences too yet they accepted it   its not too hard to read the entire contract they had and that it should of been rejected  yet they chose the money over scope   learn to comprehend that   it was told to you repeatedly

Guys... why do you all keep entertaining Josh? Ask yourself why an Industry Outsider (Banker) would have extensive knowledge of our personal business? Why would he run offense for Nelson in these forums? Why would he jump to Nelsons defense every time Nelson is in a situation that casts doubt on his argument(s)?

I’ll give you hint, he is NOT who he says he is... please ignore him.. we owe him absolutely NOTHING!

NEGOTIATIONS UPDATE for APRIL 28, 2014

Just a reminder that we go back to Washington, D.C. this Wednesday to meet with the NMB. The company is supposed to have a response for us. Many of you have asked what I think we may get offered from the company. I really have no idea, but whatever it is, I will let everyone know as soon as I can. Keep in mind, the whole negotiating team will not be meeting with the company. Only about (4) members from the union will be meeting and the rest of us will be standing by in case we need to look over any offer. Remember, NO agreement can be brought out to the membership until the committee has gone over it in its entirety, and approved to bring it out. Just to make it clear, the (4) members meeting with the company CANNOT make any agreement with the company. It must be brought to the whole committee. We hope to convince the NMB to grant us our release if the offer from the company looks like they are just toying with us. We will soon see. I want to thank all of you for hanging in there and supporting the committee.

I don't think Mike could have made it any clearer... the N/C is in NO mood for games! it's time for everyone to support them unequivocally, without political bias...

Freedom did exactly what the IAM leadership told him to do.  I might add that RDU voted in favor as well.  The only stations to vote against the current contract was ORD, TPA, CLT, PHL.

That said, Canale was voted out of office since he was ultimately responsible for bringing back such a lousy agreement.   Same for United.  The United members rejected what the leadership brought back with TA1 when Team Delaney got a worse contract.  TA2 was the result of the membership rejecting Team Delaney's putrid TA1.  That said, TA2 still sucks, so the verdict of Team Delaney's anti union actions in TA2 will be heard by the membership in June.  The greater membership created the Unified for Change team and then confirmed this message in February, so I think the membership can be excited about change coming in June.

As far as US AIRWAYS, some things remain to be seen.  Some say Team Delaney has learned from its sell out HAL and UAL contracts and will treat US AIRWAYS members much better , while others disagree.  Time will tell.   Of course, another New Direction broken promise goes down the drain as the IAM nominated Delaney to the United Airline board of director seat, a position that the New Direction said he would never take.

to our NC Team  you all got our backs     Good Luck  and give them Hell!    Lock n Loaded    Fire Away

Nelson,

I knew you would not be able to leave politics out of this... “Team Delaney”... “Team Canale”... "Team Higginbotham" .. Team Blah... Blah... Blah...

How about “Team Membership”?  You never want to admit that the Membership has the FINAL authority on ANY agreement... period! Quit attempting to make the IAM look weak, and corrupt for your own personal satisfaction. Everyone sees through you...

tim,

You are absolutely correct when you say that RDU voted for the current agreement we are under. I myself voted no, but I am just one vote. As well as the class 2 cities that voted in favor for it. It is what it is. We will see what happens in June, as far as elections go, but we are doomed if the UA for change US people get in. 2 of the three haven't even wrote a grievance, let alone had to do any sort of hearings at any level. Do they even know how to write a grievance? Doesn't inspire a lot of confidence now does it. I would love to say "best of luck", but I hope you and that entire ticket get crushed.

Nelson could care less if the candidates are inexperienced! He is so hungry for power and attention he will sacrifice Fleet in a heartbeat for his aspirations...

For some reason or another I can no longer get the quote function to work. ROA is 1000 % correct about this "Josh" aka Nelson IMO. We owe him NOTHING. Put him on ignore & please don't quote him.

If these idiots don't want to talk, it's time to walk. No contract, No sacrifice.

Those two members are not only very bright but have the respect of their station.
maybe before you start dogging Freedom for supporting steve miller, gill simmons, and pat rezler on that 2008 negotiations committee, you ought to explain how you can vote for 3 guys who were on that committee and brought forth the contract you claim sucks.

Not surprisingly, you were dogging me two years ago for explaining how the hawaiian contract by Team Delaney was a precurssor to the united contract. You sir were wrong, unfortunately, and i was right. Now with two collosal failures by Team Delaney, you claim that has nothing to do with how the usairways contract will unfold. Fwiw the stand alone agreement would have to have at least what sAA wage is and all current stations under grandfather rights, at minimum, for my recommendation, but Team Delaney never finishes and folds with ridiculousness. Mark my words.

In fact, PJ, kindly let us know one thing this team did in 6 years for usairways or united?

tim,

has either of the candidates you are running with EVER written a grievance? Have either of them been a shop steward? EVER? Being very bright, does not necessarily mean you can do the job.
