How do we know a release is a foregone conclusion? What if the proposal the compNy came up with has real merit that is worth looking into. Or the iam looks at it. Doesnt like then tells the nmb that its no good?
There will be no release. Period. That's over with. Here is what Delaney said, "We saw a willingness by the company to move in a more positive way towards settling the critical issues of wages, benefits, and security"
Prior to that, Delaney said there was an impasse, yes? There is no impasse when there is movement announced by your union leaders. Because of that, the NMB recognized that and scheduled more talks. The TWU will either file by June 9 for a single carrier or resolve it by July 9. That's a fact. The NMB NEVER has released any union, ever, when there is a single carrier petition on the table. Even before Delaney announced movement, it was incredibly unlikely that a release would come although we could hope. That said, the offer they presented was a joke, and Team Delaney is entertaining things that I seriously doubt could get ratified. Can you say, bad to worse with these guys? Remember, these are the same people who can't square up your grievance with any sort of closure, and also brought back the lame 2008 agreement, and now got punked by management which played their release game to a T. Team Delaney just mislead with more BS. No release now.
First off, I truly wish they would focus more on putting additional monies into wage or establishing a match instead of being hellbent on tossing it into the IAMPF.
We need leaders who will address 401k concerns first prior to tossing more into a fund that we have no control over.
All is not lost though. Management needs a settlement as well. The key will be to keep the solidarity and support from the TWU in regards to stand alone talks past single carrier. This is my main concern as Team Delaney lied to all of the United folks and after elections, just waived off stand alone talks and blamed the NMB. We have to prevent that from repeating. All lies for 6 years.
