That speaks volumes to me Tim. Emphasize the word PAID. This is really all it is to you. You claim that you are different then those others you rally against who also in your mind were being PAID. You are not in this to better anyone other than ultimately yourself. Oh I'm sure that you would want to do at least a good enough job to continue getting PAID. But that is your true ambition. I call them the guys who want the "leather chair" personally. They don't really want to get dirty just sit back and roll up a fat one.
At one time as an organizer you were making $97,000. That ain't no chump change. And just like the lure of some exotic drug like a woman or an opiate, you continue to crave it. I really believe if you get an elected position you won't answer to the membership, you'll answer to the wallet. PAID.....
Well, your whole post is silly, actually. I stated a historical account to counter your silliness, and yes, the membership did pay me to do a job prior and I think it is quite reasonable, actually, to consider past history of those who have been in a union office before with a tremendous responsibility. I mean, I suppose anyone can say that they would be the best AGC ever, but imo, what is more important is to consider whatever history exist with a particular candidate if he/she had any previous experience in a position with the membership compensating.
And President Delaney was quite thankful of me in that position as he published the following:
District 141 thanks all of the AirTran volunteers and organizers for their hard work on behalf of their fellow employees. As District Lodge 141 Director of Organizing, Tim Nelson, said, “They all believed in one thing – each other”.
We thank Tim and his Organizing Team – Rick Russo, Gene Beatty, Bill Kline, Joe Stassi, and Fran Paci – for their dedication to the idea that working together can overcome all obstacles. Through the many ups and downs of this campaign they all remained committed and confident that our AirTran brothers and sisters not only needed a union but wanted the IAM. The grassroots campaign they developed was based on personal contact and involvement and the success of the election shows that people talking with each other can fight back against anti-union professionals.
We especially thank General Vice President Robert Roach for his support and belief in our Team. He listened to us and always looked out for the best interests of the AirTran employees.
Congratulations to our newest members and Welcome Home!
