Absolutely. But the first step has to be to rebuild the roots.
No doubt. Except a lot of what we're seeing today might as well be RoundUp.

With private sector unionism down to only 6%, management just doesn't fear labor as much as they did.
And why do you suppose that might be?

I have been seeing some very positive signs out there though and we should be paying close attention to that.
So have I. I also see those signs dim everytime a UAL-esque T/A put out there.

We also can't think we can hide under the skirt of the RLA as something Big Business will never go after. We have to become more active in what our unions are supporting be it Politically or Representationaly.

Donate to your political action funds and sign the petitions they ask you to sign. Get active.
Preachin' to the choir... I'll assume that was a rhetorical statement. 🙂

So since 70% of UA members ratified its, they have no responsibility in what happened?

You bet they do. Plenty of blame all around, IMO.

Dude everything is always a mess to you. Ever think about hiring a cleaning service?

Talk about a bobblehead. Jeez.
Because these unions are a mess.  All they have done is concede.  They have themselves to blame although you like blaming the Republicans for the unaccountable concessions that unions have served up.

Some of it yea. But there are plenty of people out there fighting to get into what we take for granted and they could use our help. All of us. Talk to those sub-contractors. We're not any better than those who work at Walmart or McDonalds and should get that in our heads. Bring em up, not down.

And why do you suppose that might be?

Those of us in Unions and have benefited from that for a long time got soft. Put the frog in a pot of boiling water and he'll jump right out. Put him in a pot of cold water and turn up the heat and he'll boil to death.

C'mon man I've seen your posts. You're smart. You know the real story behind that. Don't line up with the spin that one character is selling.

Nope not rhetorical. Both sides use the advantages of the RLA. Just that right now the companies are using it more successfully.

The first person I always blame stares at me in the mirror every morning.

Actually Tim there is one Republican who I actually like. Can't stand his Politics and I think he's loonier than Daffy Duck. But here he is.

Unfortunately there may be many who vote no, while others write in TWU or IAM.  It could become a mess.

So Rockit2 is non-union?....

Sounds possible. Or he lost his backbone somewhere and gave up the fight? Maybe no confidance in his ability to lead a charge anymore?

Maybe he wants to sit it out while others do the work for him?

I am union, but I work with many that despise it.
What people say and what they sign on a paper is always two very different things. People have a need to b*tch and complain as part of the human condition. That's why I walk around with tissues in my bag.

If they despise the union ask them what have they done to make it better?

Ask them if they want a repeat of what happened in 1992.

Do you all remember?

700,
They could care less, it's 60 bucks a month they don't want to spend. I've asked several if they are going to vote and they say they don't know where the union hall is. I know it's pathetic. When a manager comes around they line up like cats to get a couple of head strokes and then go home and tell their wives how important they are to the company. It makes me want to puke.

This is what scares me the most about these pukes, if the contract comes out and it has shtty scope, they will vote for it if there's a raise and it doesn't have to be equal to AA.

Maybe you need to start educating them and inform them of what has happened at US when you were non-union.

Rockit the only thing I'm going to say out of respect for your guys doing the talking is take a chill pill on your thoughts there. Zen.

Phx was close. Artie won for Unifiedforchange but everyone else on u4c lost by 15-25 votes. Good that phx showed some opposition to the current leaders. Imo low turnout of only about 220 members. Low turnouts favor incumbents. Hopefully clt can have a bigger turnout.
but artie and carl, both usairways candidates are doing well against their united counterparts so i hope usairways members support them even if one does vote for the rest of 141rising.
unifiedforchange maintains its overall lead along all positions but alot of voting left.
Go out and vote!
